Do to my work schedule, I cannot make my flight next week. I bought my ticket from AA 3 weeks ago along with purchasing Access America Insurance for $30. Well, it turns out I cannot cancel and get a refund because having to work does not fit under their guidelines. Any tricks to get my refund ($440)? The worst case, I can get a voucher (will have to pay another $150 when and if I use the ticket).

Educational conflict. I was unable to use an airline ticket on Southwest this year due to college. They were excellent in dealing with it, they extended the ticket for 6 months and I only lost $50 of the credit.

I wish I could use that, but I graduated 8 years ago. If at all possible, I would like to get the $440 back instead of a flight credit. They list so many damn reasons that it makes it almost impossible to get your money back. Could not read the fine print until I purchased the insurance. If I say I'm sick, think you need a Docs excuse too...........

Go to a primary care doctor (at a walk-in clinic that doesn't have MRI equipment) and say your back hurts. He'll recommend a specialist. Ask for a note that says you can't travel.

The doc might think you're an addict that is looking for Vicodin ...

This goes on all the time with people looking for (a) pain meds and/or (b) worker's comp.

If you have a large industrial area around you, there's always one of these clinics there.
