How many of you have ever thought of or have bet on the OVER on the highest total posted each week in the regular NFL season and the UNDER on the lowest postal total? :think2: My friend brought this idea to mind and he said his friend cashed 80% doing this......... but wanted to check and see what the consensus think about this idea....... it makes a lot of sense when you think about it though, you know what im saying, foO? Wondering how successful this high/low bet does........
Actually a pretty interesting idea. Years ago I didn't really look for the highest and the lowest, but I looked for outrageously high and low totals. San Diego with Dan Fouts OVER 56, and Seattle/New Orleans under 31.5. These totals stuck out like a sore thumb. I believe Vegas may have decided to stop sending such a clear signal to the bettors since then, so your idea of looking for the highest and lowest might work well.
I'm afraid there's nothing to that idea. Dating back to the 2002 season, here's what I show:
* Taking OVER highest line of the week
115-122- 2 (48.5%)
* Taking UNDER lowest line of the week
109-115-2 (48.7%)
Looking at only the last five seasons, the percentages are pretty close to the same. So they're both about a coin toss. Was worth looking into, though.
