Very solid play for a few reasons.

The Cougs have been horrific offensively to start the season, and it shouldn't get any better on the road even against a poor Baylor defense. Head coach Paul Wulff will be naming the starting quarterback just moments before the game, and whoever does start will have a very tight leash which should lead to a poor offensive rythmn throughout. While WSU does have the talent to explode, I just don't see that happening in the first road game of the season.

I don't know much about the Baylor offense outisde of the track star they have at QB, but I do think that the WSU D should keep BU in check. This is a bold statement considering that the D gave up 66 last week to a solid Cal team, but the offense put the defense behind the 8 ball very early in the game. The pass D has been surprisingly solid thus far, even if teams have just stuck to the run because it has been so effective agianst us. This will be a test for the pass D, and if they play like they have the past couple games, Baylor shouldn't have as big of a game as OK State/Cal did in the first two weeks. I noticed that the defense got worked pretty hard this week in practice, with emphasis on the front 7. I expect a lot more blitz packages tonight from the WSU D.

I expect Wazzu to come out trying to establish the run game with Tardy/Ivory behind a very young offensive line, and if Baylor brings their run D to the game, it could be a very long day for the Cougs. I'm a little worried about the uncanny formations Baylor runs, but I think the Cougs hold Baylor in check.

I'm thinking a 24-20 game going either way. Good luck with this and the KU/USF game tonight.

 We've looked really bad these first 2 games Addict! Like the pick tonight! I really don't see the Cougs putting up more than 14-17 points this game. GL tonight!

Yeah man, it's going to be a long season I'm afraid. If we get blown out tonight, I'm going to be worried about Portland State next week. GL to you too.

Addict, the PSU game might be a good one.
I think Glanville will have his team all torqued up for the Coogs.

I know, and we REALLY need this win or else next Saturday could have the program hitting rock bottom with a loss to PSU.

Got any thoughts on the under tonight?

I agree..If I played this game at all it would be the under. Both teams are learning and fumbling around with new offensive systems, and right now are grading out at a D-. And I'm being kind.

It's been tough circumstances for WSU. Losing two senior offensive lineman (one for the year) sucks when you replace them with two freshmen. Rogers has looked horrible though, and that shocked me considering that he played pretty well in cameo appearances over the past couple years (7/7 drive for 80 yards and a TD @ Auburn to open the season a couple years ago).

Well, I haven't seen any points to speak of from the Coogs. 24 is expecting a lot. I don't know how poorly Baylor's offense plays but if they are any thing near as bad as WSU they will probably blow their share of drives and make all kinds of bonehead mistakes in the red zone etc. etc. It seems to me that they will either clamp down and take each other seriously, which seems probable and the defense prevails, or they get sloppy. Either way I think it goes under, but too much slop factor could ruin it.
