I've shot finished posting some photos on the Facebook page I just created. I have been taking many pictures this week of the remodeling process. The pictures up there now are from the day after the fire (Sunday 03.05.09) and our first day cleaning up (Tuesday 05.05.09). The Sunday pictures were taken by Dick, one of our daytime regulars and were originally posted at http://www.ticostuff.com. We spent Monday waiting for the insurance inspector from INS. To view this page just do a search for "Time Out Tavern Escazu" on Facebook. There are plenty more shots from the rest of the week that I will post in the near future.
Thank you so much to everyone. So many industry people and civilians have been an invaluable assistance since the fire. There are far to many to mention, but you can see a few in the pictures already posted.
We will begin delivering out of the house very soon, probably today. I'm sure you will hear all about that from Steven. We would like to open the bar as soon as possible even in a limited fashion. It's too early to say exactly when that will be, but in a week or two would be fine by us. For full service we are probably looking at six or seven weeks. As many of you know we are doing some remodeling that we planned to do after next football season. The kitchen is being moved next door and will include a pizza oven. The old kitchen area will now restaurant/bar area with a number of tables. The bar will become a full horseshoe - picking up a few extra seats, of course.
Although, this is not the ideal situation for us it is very exciting. We will be bigger and better than before. All of the TVs will be flat screens. We will have a 3.8 meter dish to ensure that satellite service is knocked out only under the most extreme weather conditions. For those who are concerned, the black tarp ceiling is gone. Overall, we fully expect to be providing an even more appealing spot to our loyal customers.
