Sleep!

Just kidding. Just got back from Vegas and I'm miserable if I don't get at least 5 hours. Can't think of much else not to do, everything was great in Vegas.

As a visitor, after sundown you DO NOT want to be in the following 2 mile square area.

North of Washington and South of WEST Lake Mead Blvd.......west of I-15 the first 2 miles. East of I-15 is no fairyland either.

Actually, as a local, you do not want to be in this area.............but at least as a local you have a vague idea of where your at and how to get out.

I have been shot at a couple times in this area after dark, not to mention a few other narrow escapes.

Get a LV map and AVOID this area at all cost.

As a guideline for you tourists, concentrate on going no further NORTH then downtown after dark.

Be safe!

How about walking out of the Poker Palace after midnight and telling everyone you see you just won 5,000

Couldn't agree more, Fish. Unfortuneately I went to school in that area. I was visiting a friend on Donna St. and you probably know the rest. After that we moved to Sunrise Manor and within 2 years, 2 gangs were there (1 black and 1 Mexican). All Hell broke loose and we moved yet again to the Spring Mountain area. That place just ran out of room to grow so it started to surround the seedier parts.

Stay out of the illegal message parlors that are sprinkled all over Clark County. Prostitution is NOT LEGAL in Las Vegas (Clark County) and these places will simply take your money. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

If you must go to a message parlor, go to the legas ones in Nye County and in Pahrump.

Fish, is there a good reason to bother going to the Downtowon area? Been to Vegas a few times and never really bothered venturing off the Strip. I find enough to keep me occupied there.

Don't act like a kid in a candy store have gone a few different time and lost 3/4 of my BR on the 1st day of a 4 day trip...Playing catch up sucks....What I usually do is, bet half my days BR on early sports...on the weekend games start at 10 am...and use the other half for tables, that way if you get your ass kicked on the tables, hopefully your sports came in giving you another shot a the tables later in the day....Pace yourself is the key here.

To my way of thinking Vegas is a great chance to NOT bet on sports for awhile. That's something you can already do 24/7/365 more conveniently and advantageously.

Playing enough BJ to get comped your room bill is what Vegas is for. Speaking of that, how much would you guys expect to get comped for avg 5 hrs/day for 4 days at 50-75 avg hand blackjack? I think MGM cheaped out on me.

D2bets, this is what downtown is for, COMPS! much easier downtown.

with a $50-$75 bet for 5 hours at MGM, probably expect casino rate, remember you are on the strip, much more exagerated. learn some video poker, this is where you get the comps. put in 3-4 hours a day at dollar play and you will get room and food at someplaces, although, you have to have the BR to withstand the swings

I OFTEN mention to WILHEIM and CHARLIE MAXWELL how I have been in 99% of the bars in Vegas in the ENTIRE city......which INCLUDES bars in this district.

HOWEVER, I have only been directly in the middle of this area only 4-5 times EVER at night.

Once when I was lost, once when I had a wild hair up my ass, twice as a cab driver, and once to scare the piss out of my brother-in-law. The honorable KYHAWK was with me on the last adventure with my brother-in-law.

A bunch of thugs came out of nowhere and were chasing us with 2x4's, which didnt bother me cause I could blow them away in an instant with my 357.

Anyway, you get the picture......STAY OUT OF THIS AREA.

Tuley-- I have NO interest in any drugs and definetly no whores from that district.

Dont ask a cabdriver where to get laid. You will be taken to a clip joint and get nothing at all. I used to drive cab there for about 5 years.
