Aloha Gang. Well yesterday I got back on track with a positive winning day. It could of been a much bigger day for us if only Florida didnt go cold down the stretch. Still though, yesterday did produce a 6W-4L= + 6 Units. Today we have a fairly large card, including another Big Ten Game of the Month play for me. I won my first Big Ten GOM with Indy over Purdue last month. Today this one should be much easier and I am confident in it producing another Big Winner for us. So without further adew, Lets Get to Rockin Baby!

7 Unit Big Ten Play of the Month on:

Michigan State -6 (buy .5pt)(EZ BLOWOUT WINNER by 17pts)

-The Spartans come into this one on a roll and have found itself holding a solid second place in the Big Ten Conf. at 5-2. Here is some things I like about this play with Michigan St today.

Michigan St is playing very solid ball at this time Offensively. They are the Big Ten's top shooting team from the line, from the field, and from behind the Arc. Today they will be at home where they have won their last 5 games, covering the last 3 vs Penn St +16, Michigan +6, and Indy +9. Iowa comes in losing 3 straight road games SU and 1-2 ATS, and 5 of the last 6 away from home, with their only win coming at Minny, back on Jan 13.

Where I see this one causing problems for Iowa, and creating a Big advantage for Mich St is down low. Iowa's lost of Senior C Reiner due to injury, will be a major reason for Iowa's failed ability to compete effectively in the paint against Mich St's C Paul Davis. Davis this year, is a big reason for the success of the Spartans, as he is leading them in scoring w/ 16.4ppg, and in rebounds per game.

During Reiners absence, Iowa has been struggling especially on the road where recently they have lost 3 straight to solid teams like Ill, Iowa St, and Michigan. Iowa will again have problems trying to controll Davis, and I dont think they can. I feel that Mich ST's Davis will definately have a big game today because of this lost of Reiner. Along with leading in scoring and rebounding per a game, Davis is as well excellent from the Line. He is a 76% FT shooter on the year, and today this solid FT% should come into play as I see him at the line alot. However, it really wont matter so much who is at the line as Mich St as a team is #1 in the Conf in FT%. Iowa is poor from the line at #9 in the Conf in FT%. Big advantage for Mich St.

Still though, if Iowa's game plan is to use another defender, as most teams has done, to help out on Davis, it will only provide Mich St to utilize another advantage they have by providing their perimeter players with more opportunities to take open shots or drain the three's. This is another advantage Mich St has over Iowa, as they rate #1 in both FG% from the field and 3pt FG% from behind the Arc, in the Conf at 38%. Iowa in these areas is #3 and #10.

As you can see, Mich St's solid play from their big guy down low has opened up alot of high percentage shots for the rest of the team. Today, whatever Iowa will do on Defense, Mich St should be able to answer effectively. This effectiveness has led to Mich St's current victories in 5 or their last 6 games. In todays game, without the ability of Iowa to compete defensively dow low, Mich St should be able to dominate again leading to another victory.

Other things that make me feel good about this one, is based on past meetings. Mich St has been owning Iowa going 9-2 SU and ATS vs them since 1997. Their most recent meetings shows Mich St going 5-0 SU and ATS in the last 5 games played at Mich St. This team and home dominance by Mich St over Iowa is just to strong to Buck. In addition, because of Mich St's 2nd place standings in the Big Ten Conf, it is safe to assume that Coach Izzo will not let his team let up or lose any type of focus as they are in a battle to gain the top spot and Conf Title. A solid victory today in this game is also important for them to maintain the momentum they have, as they will be hitting the road for the next two games.

Mich St simply has the matchup advantages, the motivational advantages, and the home and coaching advantages in this one. They should win this one by double digits and based on their recent turn arounds in their play and past history between the two, I cannot find much to say differently. Go Spartans!

Adding:

4 Unit Plays on:

Kent St -6(LOSE- lets DD lead get away)

-Hot team right now.

Dayton -4 (WINNER- by 1pt ats in OT)

-Won first one on the road in hostile territory. Why not again at home. Dayton top dog in Conf for a reason.

Witchita St -2 (BLOWOUT WINNER)

-Better more talented team who's motivation is a conf championship. Talent and motivation equal victory.

Buffalo -7 (LOSE SU- WOW!)

-On a roll and playing balanced ball. Opponent may be more competitive in the NAIA level.

3 Unit Plays on:

Bradley -7(WINNER- by 1pt ats)

-leader returns and that should spark a winning enthusiasm that gets contagious. Add in the Revenge factor for earlier loss, and this one could get ugly.

Memphis +4(WINNER- UPSET 62-58)

-Home court is very strong. Memphis 10-0 at home this year, and hungry for national recognition. John Calapari just as solid as Petino. Louisville stud players still hobbling alittle. Louisville upset today, wont shock me one bit.

-Well Gang, today's card to me is very solid and should provide us with a very profitable day. So far we are back on track with the winning day from yesterday. Lets make it two back to back winning days for us. Good Luck to All today and Aloha Co-Captain.

Adding: I couldn't refuse this one.

5 Unit Play on:

NC State -2 (buy .5pt)(WINNER SU BY 5pts, after down 16 at the half. HOLY COW!)

-NC St 10-0 SU and 5-1 ATS at home. State avgs scoring 79 ppg and 46% from the field, and holds its opponents to only 60 ppg and 39% from the field at home. Dam thats some awesome stats to try and buck in this one. Home Court to strong in this one.

NC St is 24-9 ATS at home last 3 seasons. NC St currently 2-0 in Weds games, and 10-2 ATS the last 3 seasons playing games on Weds. NC St is 3-0 vs good Offensive teams scoring 77+ pts per game after 15+ games. They are also 2-0 when playing against teams with winning records after 15 games or more. Wake currently 1-5 vs good Defensive teams allowing less than 64 pts per game. Very Strong Stat.

Alittle more...

In road games, Wake giving up 81.4 ppg and allowing 46.4% from the field to opponents. In Conf games, Wake is giving up 81.7 ppg and 46.5% from the field to Conf opponents.

CO-cap, enjoy the writeups again. Even though, I cannot back the Spartans right now, I like your reasoning for your pick.
NC St. is my play today, keep up the good work.
I have cooled off a little recently, so take it with a grain of salt.

Hey Co-Cap..Good Luck to you today. I just wanted to drop a line because I noticed you had a comment in another thread regarding having a "writeup" about taunting a so called "big game" from another capper in here. Well, I actually today have a "big" game myself going, but I honestly don't have the time to write up a long reason why I took the play. I know you write up very nice lengthly write ups for your plays, but I just don't believe in that nor have the time because I am at work. I do enjoy your threads very much!! I'm still trying to gain respect in here with my plays, but my feeling is if you can just give out winners conistently, then having a write up or not shouldn't matter. Anyway, I just didn't want to offend you in any way because I know your title in here. Good Luck to you today and everyday...

Love the write up on MSU -- I know they have let alot of people down so far this year, but this looks to be a great spot for a "breakout" type game.

Best of luck to you on your plays today CC.

jimmymo, thanks. Yes, early in the season they were not playing up to their full potential and that got alot of people stating how overrated or terrible they were. But sometimes teams will need more time to jell with eachother then most of us are unaware of. Many things can disrupt this process. But Mich St in the past month or so have began to put the pieces together and start to play solid ball like many felt they are capable of doing. Todays game is a good spot to have exactly what you said should happen a breakout game. Yes, based on the situations that this team is facing and compared that to the situations that Iowa is facing and bringing into this one. I also see a solid game from Mich St resulting in a dd victory for them today. I am expecting nothing less than this from them. GL with your plays today and Aloha CC.

FawvDog, appreciate the vote of confidence. As long as I post plays, you can rest assured that I will be putting all my efforts into trying to provide winners. I dont and wont ever guarantee anyone here to have only winners. That simply wont happen. What I can guarantee you, is that I like to win and losing really fvckin pisses me off. So on that note, Lets get em today, my friend. Aloha CC.

Co-Cap, which Island do you live on? I will be in Hawaii from May 2-10. I will be on my honeymoon (getting Married May 1st). We will be in O'ahu the first couple of days, then Maui for the rest of the time. I have never been to Hawaii and look forward to a wonderful stay. Any suggestions from a local? Thanks! Great card for tonight! GL - FawvDog

I am still trying to figure out that Dayton line? Dayton dominates at home, I know Richmond has played well of late on the road, but normally they are awful on the road. Dayton's big inside , RIchmond is not. Dayton won at Richmond and now is playing at home where they don't lose and should be able to control tempo.
I am going to have to take a small piece with you at 4.I think this line should be at least 5.5, which is what scares me but I am going to take it anyway. GL

Just took Dayton at -3.5 at Jazz, they are a pretty sharp book which concerns me even more but too good of # to pass-up. GL

Michigan St looks very solid tonight. Im in at 6 as well. Did you know Sonderlieter left the Iowa team for personal reasons, another big factor in this game. Trannon will also be playing his 2nd game for MSU, he looked good vs IU.
