Aloha Gang. Well we almost got the complete SWEEP yesterday. Still, we ended the day with a very solid 2W-0L-1P= +9 Units. My GOM play, came close to getting us another winner, but fell just short ending up being a push instead. This now brings my GOM Record to 12W-2L-1P= +70 Units on the Season.(86%)(less vig) That is still a VERY SOLID RECORD for ALL that only follow me for my BIG GOM PLAYS.
Currently our record for this week stands at 11W-13L-1P= -16 Units. We have only today to get it back as I keep records on my plays based on a week to week basis. Right now my record of 8 CONSECUTIVE WINNING WEEKS is in jeopardy of getting a blemish, as we only have TWO games on the board today, but unlike some, I do not release GOY's every single day, so I have my work cut out for me. Anyway, no matter what happens today, we have simply "OWNED THE BITCH", and one down week will NEVER take that away from such a solid run that All who followed enjoyed. With that said, lets get to work getting on this short card. LETS FREAKIN ROLL-N-ROLL BABY!
**TOP 6 UNIT PLAYS ON:
KANSAS -4 (buy .5pt)
-Today the words is "PAINT JOB". In this game that is where this one will be won, and here are some of the information and reasons why I feel it will be won exactly where them BIG UGLY'S Live.
Kansas is going for their 3rd straight Final Four appearance today, after they destroyed UAB by putting up an astonishing 100pts in the process. GT, on the other hand, will wish that they had other hands as they will be running into another one of those HOT teams in this Jayhawk squad today.
GT comes into this simply struggling Offensively. GT is just 1-2 ATS vs its 3 opponents in the Tourney so far. They have ONLY been winning by a slim 4pt margins against unranked and minor conf teams in N Iowa, Nevada, and BC, who got the cover over GT and is the only one of the three from a Major Conf. Todays game against Kansas will be GT first Big Test in this Tourney. And it may not be an easy one as they will be without their starting G and leading scorer BJ Elders who suffered an unfortunate injury to his ankle in the Nevada game.
BJ on the year has provided not only leadership and is GT's floor General, but he also averaged 16.2 ppg, 3 rpg, 78.1% from the line, and 38.3% from 3pt land. To say that he, if he cant go will be missed is an UNDERSTATEMENT. Now I know his status is a gametime thing, but being a former athlete myself, and who has suffered many foot injuries, I am pretty much certain that if he couldnt comeback to play vs Nevada, he is not going to play today. Still, with the wonders of medicines like cortezone shots and then some you never know. But, even if he does suit up to play, he will not be able to run it and gun it to full capacity and that as well leaves him in a position to be taken advantage by this solid back court of Kansas. GT with Elder in the line up these past games, still were struggling Offensively scoring less than 65pts per game. So it is safe to assume that without him, this Offensive struggles will only continue or get worst. I say it gets worst.
Kansas's Offense, on the other hand, is simply clicking and running on all cylinders right now. They have been ROLLING ROCK HOT, going 3-0 SU and ATS, beating their 3 Tourney opponents by 25pts, 15pts, and 26pts. Also, in the month of March, Kansas has been on a tear winning 6 of their last 7 games, only falling to Texas by 4pts in the Conf Tourney. In those 6 games they have been Spanking Teams by an average of 17.3pts per a game. Also impressive is the fact that 5 of those 7 games were played away from their HOUSE. This Offense has simply caught FIRE scoring over 85pts per game in the Tourney so far.
This Offensive production of the Jayhawks is coming from their dominant INSIDE game of 6'9" 250lb JR Wayne Simien, who is simply pushing his weight around and becoming UNSTOPPABLE. For ex, in just 28 mins of play vs UAB, he scored 30pts, grabbed 9 boards, and have 5 assist. Simien is averaging right now 20pts per game in the Tournament. But he is not alone as he is getting solid support DOWN LOW from 6'9" F Jeff Graves and 6'11" C David Padgett. GT will be very undermanned in the Paint today, with only one real big man down low. And, I do not see Carrot Top's younger brother and Rocky Dennis's cousin 7'1" Luke Schenscher being able to control this bunch of Jayhawk Bangers around the board.
Speaking of boards. We ALL know that rebounding
is VERY IMPORTANT factor in getting easy second chance shots, as well as, preventing second chance opportunities for opponents. In the rebounding department, Kansas Board Bangers have grabbed a dominating 116 rebounds to their opponents 75, and this is a Big reason for their scoring 82pts per game over the last 5 outings.
Here are some comparisons of each team, based on their last 5 games. Kansas has gone 4-1 SU and ATS. Their Offensive production has increased averaging in this span, 82(72.9)ppg, 39pts(33.7) in the 1st half, 52%(47%)shooting from the field, and grabbing 42.2(37.8)rpg. On the Deffensive end, they have also stepped it up a notch allowing 64.6(68.4)ppg, just 35%(39.4%)shooting from the field, and ONLY allowing opponents to grab 32.2(35.7)rpg.
GT in their last 5 games, has seen a decrease in it Offensive production dropping their scoring average to 69.6(75.7)ppg, and a drop in their shooting % to 45.6%(46.3%), and grabbing less rebounds per game with 35.2(37.4) rpg. Their ONLY constant play is on the Defensive end, holding opponents to the average of 70ppg, 40% shooting from the field.
Besides all these advantages for Kansas another is that they are playing with a deeper bench and a have a better coach in Bill Self, who if I am not mistaken has taken three different teams to elite 8 and then on to the Final Four, or something like that. Kansas is currently also 5-2 ATS playing on a Neutral Court, whereas GT is only 3-3 ATS on a Neutral Court.
Simply put, I am backing the RED HOT TEAMS left in the Tournement, as there is no tomorrow for anyone so you need to be always on your A game and it needs to running full steam ahead and peeking at this time. Kansas, like X, Duke, Uconn, and Ok ST are the HOT teams, who are ROLLING, and like I mentioned before, it is like a snowball effect. When it starts rolling, there is no stopping it and all that is in its way will be rolled right the hell OVER, and Kansas is a ROLLING SNOWBALL right NOW. Take the Jayhawks to end GT's season today and lay the short number. GO JAYHAWKS!
**4 UNIT PLAYS ON:
DUKE/X OVER 144
-Two HOT teams in Duke and Xavier face off. Duke averaging 75.2 ppg, and 45% shooting from the field in their last 5 games. Xavier averaging 86 ppg, and 50.9% shooting from the field in their last 5 games. Enough said!
**Ok Gang, I will be having a selection coming up on the side for the other Elite 8 game between Duke and X, so you can check back later if interested. For now, lets do some damage with these. Good Luck to All and Aloha Co-Captain.
