I think this is a good spot for Buffalo here. They are coming off their best season as a division 1 team and expectations are high. They will be fired up for the start of the season and know this is a very winnable game for them. They return 18 starters from last seasons team including Quarterback Drew Willy. Willy will return for his senior year and his 4th year starting. He took a big jump last year throwing for 15 TD's and just 6 INT's, as well as throwing for more nearly 1200 more yard than his previous season. They return 4 starters on the offensive line including an all-league guard Jeff Niedermier, who has started 30 consecutive games. At running back junior James Starks returns after posting a 1000 yard season in 2007. On the defensive side of the ball they return all 4 members of the secondary. The UTEP defense will have their hands full trying to contain the Buffalo offensive attack. Last season the Miners ranked 117th in the nation in total defense. Their only hope would seem to be in a shoot out and that will spell trouble for them. They return just 5 starters on offense. Their coach acknowledges that they may be in some trouble "We have not been explosive like we need to be,"Head Coach Mike Price said. "We haven't make many big plays.”. Everything seems to be in favor of the Bulls in this game and the line is not bad at all for a home team where the visitors are coming from very far away. I like Buffalo here to light up the score board and cover the spread with ease.
