Tonight's NBA Playoff Picks...........

For me the playoffs in the NBA and NFL is where I make my money.........

Lots of my playoff 1st Qt and 1st half plays are based on trends. Usually the first 3 games I go with the trends and on the 4th to 7th games I go against it.

I have been doing very well so far in the playoffs so I will try to lend a helping hand. I used this method also last year very effectively.

ATL +3........1st QT

ATL under 90.5......1st half

Dallas over 52.5........1st QT

Dallas got a bummed called last game and I see the NBA giving Dallas the win on tonight's game. At the same time one more game means more revenue for Denver so I don't think the owner minds going back home for a 5th game.

Dallas -2

Year after year every round these types of trends almost always cashes in.

You can call me crazy but since the playoffs started I had played Cleveland -3400 to win vs Detroit and -2500 to win against ATL.

I don't think anyone in the East will be able to stop them from reaching the Finals. I will most likely take them in the Conference Finals no matter what the price will be.

For me this is like getting free money. I know there is a high risk but it's like a sports car racing a minivan.

Dallas -2 is not a trend just my way of thinking.........no matter what it's a good night already.

Piranha congrats on the fine night of hoops you enjoyed but by the same token I'm somewhat surprised, considering your capping ability and success, that you would make the following comment with still an entire half to play in tonight's Nugget-Mavs game:

"From the looks of things Dallas is not looking very good. If I did not play Dallas -2 for the game I would jump on Denver +3.5 now."

Based on that line or comment, it seemed as though you would have hedged on your initial wager and with a full half still to play, I'm surprised you would have even considered doing that had you the opportunity. Seemed as though you might have been second guessing your wager and from my experience, solid cappers like yourself rarely do that kind of thing.

In the end however, I suppose the fact that you didn't and that the Mavs stormed back for you to grant you the push was somewhat a sign of sorts to never question your initial wagers, especially if you're a quality capper like yourself.

I would never hedge on a bet where the gap is too large to lose both ways. I just stated the way Dallas was playing that had I not bought them I would have played Denver 2nd half.
