I'd have to look to make sure but I'm almost positive since the extra point got moved pit converts their 2 point tries more than 50% which means it is in fact working. Kickers miss extra points all the time now, well known pit has one of the more difficult stadiums for kickers. Almost any analytics say going for 2 the correct play. That is in fact why I played pit ml instead of laying any points as them going for 2 tends to lead to funny scores.
Lol. I'm certainly not trying to argue Tomlin smarter than everyone! Hell I don't think he even a particularly good coach when it comes to actual in game management/desicions, very good motivator but makes more mistakes than not in game IMO.. gutsier than the other coaches I think more accurate as I believe most coaches simply stick w the status quo cause they don't get fired for doing what everyone else does where in doing stuff outside the box opens yourself up for far more criticism.. generally pit strategy in the matter is if they get the 2 the 1st time then they kick afterwards as that has just given them advantage, expecting they can make it up on second td if they fail. Granted it didn't work today but I think you would see if you go back and look it has been effective strategy for them.. just my 2 cents. Enjoy the discussion !
I don't think it's ever been an issue because it's never really affected the outcome of a game. If for some reason he loses this game by a fg or less then it may become an issue. Like right now, instead of being down 3, he's down 5, so if they score now they're forced to go for 2 again. Maybe I'm old school but I just down see how's it's a big enough reward to risk it early in the game.
