i agree 100% why he kicked a field goal at the half yard line to start the game was the dunbest call ever.it almost came back to haunt him forever.you have the best defense in the league arizona sucks against the run you need a half a yard and you kick a field goal.what was he affraid of arizona going 99 1/2 yards for a touchdown.

If they had gone for the touchdown and failed, and Steelers had lost that game by less than 3 points then everyone would be questioning his decision to not kick the field goal. So the argument can pretty much go either way. Different styles of coaching, which is better in the end?... whoever wins.
Here is the main thing I have with Tomlin. Yes, he is loved and yes he is a fiery guy the players respond to but what does he do?
He is a defensive coach that has no say over the defense. He decides when to go for it, when to call TO's, and when to challenge. That's about it.
And yes I thought the decision to kick was terrible. Statistics have SHOWN that you go for it in that situation. Tomlin did not. Not a smart move but hey, they won.
