And can someone explain THIS article? Am I on a diet to increase my chances of a heart attack?

Cows produce cholesterol yet they are vegetarians. I've believed for a long time that our bodies are what contribute more to cholesterol levels than our diets.

The people I've known that have had the hardest time with heart disease have been skinny people. That's not to say fat people don't have problems too. I'm just saying that you don't have to be fat to have a hard time with your heart.

its the secret that drug co.s don't want lay people to realize.
genetics play a much higher role in having heart attacks from high cholesterol.
alot of familys have high cholesterol but have NO history of MIs or strokes.
Its the families where heart problems are common that need to watch their cholesterol levels/what they eat.

similar to families that have high rates of Cancer(my family)
so i watch what i smoke, eat healthy and don't become obese (constant battle)
also i take 5 different types of antioxidants,
(lycopene, vitamins C + E, resveratrol, pycnogenol{grape seed extract}).
also take policosanol for cholesterol even though neither side of my family tree has ever had heart problems (alot of cirrhosis though)

Well. 2nd blood tests came back negative with the blood sugar. However, I still have high cholesterol and they found a trace of blood in my urine and I have to go to a kidney specialist. Im taking the fish oil pills and id like to know what kind of vitamins I can take for energy. The one a days dont work. The GNC for mens health didnt work as well. I want something that has no jitters as side effects but something to help all around. Am I asking for a miracle drug? Thanks

I've said it before and I'll say it again, ephedra is hands down the best natural product you can take for energy and mental alertness. That is unless you want to believe all the horror and doomsday stories from the drug companies that succeeded in getting it banned through there buddies at the FDA (these are the same drug companies trying to scare us away from vitamin E even though it's one of the best antioxidants for us) Here is some of my reasoning on it....

Anything that is inexpensive but works very effectively such as Ephedra and Vitamin E is bad business for those big corporations, why on earth would they want everybody to be healthy? Ephedra has been used for hundreds and hundreds of years, there have been a handful of deaths over the years caused by athletes taking way too much of it and not staying hydrated, but you can also die from drinking too much water and overdosing on aspirin (aspirin overdoses have caused way more deaths then ephedra but you never see that blown up in the media or talked about being banned) It's also amazing how they allow all these energy drinks to flood the market out there that are completely loaded with sugar and terrible for you. getting people hooked on red bulls seems like a ticking time bomb to me, just what those drug companies want though. Here in Canada we can buy ephedra in smaller doses where they are labelled as "nasal decongestants". I take a couple of these in the morning or before a workout and I feel great. This is all just my opinion, do a little research on it if you want, but there is definitely no better natural stimulant out there then ephedra.

no
the media is pretty much clueless when it comes to scientific journals. the people considered to be part of the 'low fat diet' group weren't even eating that healthy at all. it's very comparable to the nurses health study done many years ago.

low fat diets are good for you. eat healthy WHOLE foods (meaning not processed and not from a box/can/preserved). keep the sodium, cholesterol and fat low
