It works in the NFL with challenges. But this business of replaying every play in college is getting old very quick. The refs have no balls anymore and are afraid to make a call. Guy is down for 3 seconds and the ball comes out, they rule it a fumble and then go to the replay to reverse it, if necessary. I know the thinking that they don't want to kill the play, but c'mon. You can still make calls. It's like Naked Gun now.......Ahh......ummmm....strike??? Just do away with it or implement a challenge system like the NFL.

Replay has worked very nicely from what i've seen in college...mostly I've just seen Big10 and they have done a great job at it!

No need to review every fucking play. Refs can make a mistake once in awhile.

so many inept refs and umpires these days, it's definitely needed...they shouldn't determine outcomes of games!

I agree to a certain extent. But when you see it affecting the way they call a play, ie the guy down for a long time before fumbling, it just gets irritating to watch. Cause some plays are not reviewable, and do have a huge impact on the game. Take the Wisconsin-Michigan game. Guy scores a touchdown, and they call "touchdown, but this play will be reviewed." But the ref calls a laughable bullshit roughing the kicker penalty, which would definitely be overturned, but it's not reviewable. This could have had a huge impact on the game. My feeling is that since pass interference and things like that aren't reviewable, why should other plays be? I would prefer a challenge rule, and think it would be a better solution. Let the refs call the game, and live with it. Except for the one play a half where you want to challenge. That's my opinion.

I have loved it. These college refs are brutal. The extra review here or there hasnt effected the time of most games. And if it does, i am willing to give up an extra 10 minutes of my saturday to make sure i don't lose a play on a bad call.

If it reverses bad calls, I'm all for it. I'm sure the speed will increase over time.

p.s. The NCAA approved it for all bowl games this year. Don't be surprised to see more conferences jumping on board next year.

I believe all but one conference is using some form of instant replay this year.

I think it's actually two conferences that don't use it.

As for using it, I think it's great...I can deal with having to spend a little more time watching a game for it to be called correctly. Notre Dame doesn't beat Michigan without replay(fumble on the goal line by Henne was originally called down, replay showed he fumbled and ND recovered), and I've seen plenty of games this year where replay has played a major role. The refs in college are noticibly worse than the NFL, so it's absolutely essential. Just my opinion.

Do you remember in the 4th quarter when Quinn was tackled, took a lunch break, rolled over, then the ball came out, and the refs ruled it a fumble? That's the kind of stuff I'm talking about. Oh, we don't wanna make a call, we'll just call it a fumble every time and then overturn it.

This is exactly how all referees should call the game. There is nothing worse than seeing what should be a fumble get ignored because of a premature whistle.

Definitely! I get tired of them blowing their whistles all the time...they need to wait...watched many teams get burned by this...let it play out and if you have to make a decision afterward then good! Don't ruin a play by calling forward progress stopped or a guy down when you should not be blowing whistle!

what pisses me off is that the refs in both leagues can utilize replay but still don't err on the side of turnovers when making calls. it can fuck up a game if a play isn't challengable, but i give the league credit because they are making more situations challengeable.
i'm all for replay.
