Monica Lewinsky was determined to leave the past behind as the election heats up with allegations of sexual misconduct directed at Donald Trump and Bill Clinton.
The former White House intern turned cyber-bullying activist was spotted at 5.30am on Friday, wearing a black sweater and skinny jeans with a leopard print scarf checking into her flight at Los Angeles International Airport.
When a photographer repeatedly asked her whether she thought Trump was 'fit to be president', she ignored his requests before taking the high road.
She disarmed the photographer and sent him into a fit of laughter when she said: 'It's 5.30 in the morning, you should be asleep. You should not be at the airport bothering people with your camera.'
She stayed silent despite his persistence, later tweeting: 'Nothing like a pap at LAX somehow spotting u in seconds... when ur w/o a stitch of make up @ 5.30 AM. gee, thx @Delta!'

She disarmed the photographer and sent him into a fit of laughter when she said: 'It's 5.30 in the morning, you should be asleep!'

After a 2005 hot mic recording caught Trump bragging about sexually assaulting women, he dismissed his comments as 'locker room banter' before attacking his opponent's husband.
Since then, eight women have come forward to accuse Trump of sexually harassing them after he denied ever doing so in the second presidential debates.
Trump also held a press event with three women who accused Bill Clinton of rape or sexual assault before the second presidential debate.
Kathy Shelton, who was 12 when she was raped by a 41-year-old drifter who Hillary Clinton defended in court, was also thrust into the limelight at the press event.

Lewinsky, who kept a low profile in the wake of the 1998 scandal revealing her affair with then-president Bill Clinton, reemerged in 2014 to tell her side of the story.
She described the public humiliation she suffered as 'excruciating', and said the fall out from the sex scandal brought her 'very close' to attempting suicide.
'Anybody who has gone through any kind of trauma knows it doesn't just go away with a snap of the fingers,' she said.
'It lives as an echo in your life. But over time the echo becomes softer and softer.'
But Lewinsky refused to be mired in the allegations launched at either Trump or Bill Clinton, choosing not to comment as she continues to reinvent her public image.

Trump said: 'If you look at Bill Clinton, far worse. Mine are words, and his was action.' The business tycoon has since been accused of sexual harassment by eight women
