My first thought: Wtf?

Then I put on my dimocrap thinking cap and it all became clear. I think we need some common sense reforms here. You know, more people have been killed and maimed by cars than killed or maimed in all of our wars.

Nobody NEEDS a car that can go over 10 mph. This is insanity, and had this car only been going 5 mph, none of this would have happened! These driving nuts have to be stopped!

I also think we should limit the gas tank size to no more than three gallons. Then outlaw racing stripes, hood ornaments, chrome wheels AND adjustable seats.

We also need the CDC keep track of whether car owners have children in a homes with attached garages and how many suicides are done with automobiles. The depressive nature of car ownership is vastly underestimated in this country. They do it better in Europe with all those trains.

It's pretty amazing to see the same people with the exact same thought process.

A few on purpose car deaths a year.

Thousands and thousands of gun deaths per year

then mock gun control. The thinking power on the right is something special.

We should try to stop death by falling down a manhole with same resources, money and research we try to stop cancer with. After all there were 30 deaths by manhole and hundreds of thousands by cancer.

How many of them are carried out by legal gun owners?

Once you answer that, you might start seeing a correlation for why making guns illegal is completely futile.

I also wouldn't mind seeing some statistics on "on purpose" car deaths each year.

Because your entire ideology and premise is fallacious and emotionally-driven.

Everyone just laughs.

OMG! MORE KIDS DIED! WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING!

Reality check: gun control works as well as prohibition. In a country of 320 million people, no matter what you do, bad people with bad intentions will always get their hands on their weapon of choice. Carrying a firearm is not a like car where you can easily get caught driving without a license or insurance on public roads. Gun control is impractical and useless.

You're wasting your time and political capital attacking 2nd Amendment rights.

With you, it always boils down to the same thing: your foolish blind faith in government.

Operating requires government license and a registration that must be renewed annually. Identifying tags must be displayed at all times. Insurance is required, along with annual inspections. Exceeding government posted limits can result in citations. There are severe restrictions on using other technology while using one. You can only buy a new one from very specific and highly controlled dealerships. We already do have very car control.

Nobody said make guns illegal.....restrictions.

there is a reason people don't drive cars into schools to cause mass damage.

Too easy to get guns. Too easy to buy killing machines. Too easy to buy large amounts of ammunition.

You really wanna compare guns as weapons to people purposely using cars as weapons? Cmon man. That is something Joe would say.

And yet bad shit still happens.

Go figure.

WE NEED MORE CAR CONTROL! PEOPLE ARE DYING! DOING NOTHING IS UNACCEPTABLE!

Oh, what a relief! That means nobody would ever steal a car, and nobody who is ever licensed to own one would ever use it for purposes like this.

Thank goodness.

Why do you guys always go the extreme? Saying "nobody" would steal a car makes no sense. It's a free society.....of course you can't stop everything.

By your logic we should just leave bank vaults open to the public because some people will rob banks.

Are liberals really comparing an invisible weapon the size of a Coke bottle anyone can carry in their pocket to a 5,000 pound VISIBLE hunk of moving sheet metal (or fiberglass), suggesting one is as easily "controlled" as the other?

Well, uhhhh...we have car controls, ya know...duhhhhhhhhhhhh!

The only way to get caught with an illegal firearm is the same way you get caught speeding, narcotics, driving without a license and/or insurance etc:

WHILE DRIVING A CAR!

How is the government going to enforce real gun control without turning the country into a police state?

Prohibition = war on drugs = gun control = FAIL

Idiots.

You think comparing that is dumb but comparing gun deaths to purposeful car deaths is smart

Where does RX find these people?

Both are dumb.

We just come up with these headlines and comparisons to laugh at fools like you.

Yeah, reason and logic without soiling the debate with stupid false liberal arguments and strawmen.

Reality: Gun control does not work (will not prevent the next shooting liberals are sure to exploit for their agenda)

Liberals: But we should still try!

Stealing a car or using one to kill someone are both covered under the governments car control policies.

As Joe pointed out, prohibition does not stop everything, but the only alternative is allowing it. And when it comes to stealing cars and killing people that probably isn't a good idea.

All I did was use your exact same stupid logic and apply it to this situation.

If what you think could control guns would, why not apply it everywhere? Oh, right...because cars are not "designed" to kill people, as if that matters. Buildings aren't "designed" to have people fall off them to their deaths, but it has happened...so maybe after we ban cars, let's start brainstorming on how to ban tall buildings.

Oh, btw...you don't read about stories like this as well, but they still happen. If not to help someone else, to protect themselves.
