The Los Angeles Sparks head into Indiana as 11 point underdogs off a four-game skid in which they’ve yet to cover. With that said…historical trends strongly favor the Spark here—since 2011, double-digit road dogs facing a team fresh off a road win as underdogs are 22-5-1 ATS (81.5%). Despite missing Odyssey Sims, the Sparks have found life at the line (second in the league in free-throw rate over the last five games) and attack the paint efficiently—exactly where this Fever defense has shown vulnerability, allowing opponents to score 86+ in four of their last five outings while sending opponents to the line at the 2nd highest rate.
Meanwhile, the Fever return home off a taxing three-game West Coast swing, immediately followed by another road game in Dallas tomorrow. First-leg back-to-back spots at home rarely yield a full-throttle effort, especially for a team dealing with travel fatigue and let down after beating the Storm outright as underdogs in Seattle just a couple nights ago. Even if Indiana jumps out early, look for the Fever to let off the gas pedal or load manage in the 4th quarter ahead of their game in Dallas the following day, paving the way for the Sparks’ scorers to keep the final margin within 11 points.
