Analysis:


No chalk here! The Mets played yesterday in Minnesota while the Cardinals had the day off. After a sluggish start, St. Louis has won four of their last six, and against the Phillies and Astros as opposed to lesser competition.


Pallante just doesn't allow extra baserunners. In three starts his WHIP is 1.04 and that's bolstered by a seven inning, two hitter against Philadelphia in his last start. While I'd admit that Griffin Canning seems to own me, this season he's been putting extra runners on, as evidence by his WHIP of 1.53 despite not a'llowing a ton of hits, and he will make the long ball mistake. I am betting F5 because even tho the Mets played yesterday (and traveled) they do have an advantage in the bullpen.
