If there is any game that can lift the spirits of Ole Miss' players and fans it is the bitter game against Mississippi State. Last week, Ole Miss did everything right to put themselves into position to win its first SEC West title, except make a field goal. Ole Miss' kicker blew two FGs, including a game tying effort. Thus, LSU came away victorious 17-14. Mississippi State, well let's just say that it has been a tough year, as they got blown out again 52-6 against Arkansas. This season, Mississippi State's Defense (if you can call it that) has given up 440 points. The next closest SEC West competitor in this category only has allowed 296 points. Mississippi State's defense is giving up almost 500 yards a game. Nothing in the statistics leads me to believe that State can stop Eli Manning and the boys. The Ole Miss defense has steadily improved this year and had an excellent outing against LSU, only allowing 17 points. Last year, Ole Miss came through at home to win 24-12 SU, however, Mississippi State has won six out of the last 10 matchups. Ole Miss may have a little hangover from last week, but they are the superior team!!!
