It has been a bad playoffs for me because i love dogs & favorites have been kicking ass. But the stars are aligning for both dogs to cover tonight. It looks like blowout city for both games but look more carefully.

Magic -7. It is clear that orlando is soft, & are lost without Nelson. This series should be over, but it continues. Now that the Magic are on the edge, they are expected to blow out the Celtics to force a game 7. I do expect them to play well & win tonight. However, the Celtics are an extremely live dog in this spot. We know that Pierce, Allen, & big baby can close games. They have a good bench. They have championship coaching. They have better esprit de corps in this series. I expect, despite the fact the magic should play well, that the Celtics will hang around because of their coaching, tenacity & defense. I think this game has high overtime potential & getting 7 is a gift.

Lakers -9. Yes, the Lakers are better then the Rockets on paper. Yes, the Lakers will eventually beat the Rockets. But thats the problem. They can lose tonight & still go home. Unlike the Cavs, the Lakers take games off when they don't have to win. So why anyone would bet on the Lakers to cover double digits in a game they don't need is beyond my imagination. Worse, the Rockets are an extremely live dog as well. They showed us in game 4 that they can beat the lakers without Yao. Unlike the Mavericks, the Rockets have HUGE heart, & i guarantee this will not be a blowout, this will come down to the last 2 minutes, & the Rockets may send this to a game 7.

So my picks are

Celtics +7
Rockets +9

lakers will not lose another game in houston. especially since they got embarassed the lakers basically got called out as not being a championship team and they proved everyone wrong by beating the crap out of the rockets harder. What makes you think they are going back to houston to get embarassed AGAIN? Lakers will own them

Spoken like someone from SoCal. What makes you think the Rockets are going to lose another game in Houston since they lost an embarrassing Game 3 their worst home loss of the season and came back and proved everybody wrong by beating the crap out of the Lakers in Game 4 at home. Road game tells me nothing. Houston sucks on the road, they have all season. Game 1 was an anlomoly. So was Game 3. They were 33-8 at home with an avg point loss of 4. Houston is tough on their floor and they have heart. I think it's almost 50/50 that they win this game outright, let alone cover.

I too usually only play Dogs but for the playoffs it's a different situation. I have been picking my spots for the favorites. I hate betting big favorites so I play them for the 1st half instead.

For tonight the points once again is too high for Orlando to be giving. The right side I feel should be Orlando.

Same prop was up for the Cavs/Hawks game 4, and Cavs got the ten point lead of theirs as the game ended. Buyer beware on this one.

This may have been the most "off" line the entire NBA season and playoffs combined. Went heavy, but not heavy enough. You don't often see a 9 point spread wrong team favored situation, but this was it.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..
