Good Luck today HS.
I usually lean toward New York circuit tracks but these small Winter fields and
a lot of there good Jockeys hanging out at Gulfstream ,it does get old.
Most of the time in the past when those Jocks go south and good many just stay.
Oh Well--

Before Aqueduct, I think I need to explain something? In a race with a 7 horse betting field or less I'll only post 3 picks. In 8 horse fields or more, I'll post 4 picks.

Aqueduct

1- 6 5 3
2- 3 1 only 4 horses so I post just 2 for exacta bettors
3- 5 2 4
4- 2 1 6
5- 4 5 6
6- 2 1a 7
7- 2 6 1
8- 3 6 7 8

Thanks Tracker, yes the short fields don't yield as much value usually, but I'd rather do my capping close to home. I really don't pay too much attention to the jocks or trainers unless they have shown me that they are totally incompetant. Maybe I should though?

Good luck today, Hoss & Tracker. I will add my two cents pertaining to trainers. I use trainer tendencies a great deal in handicapping a race. For example, Saffie Joseph in Florida is deadly off a layoff and I will always upgrade a Jason Servis runner first off the claim . Also, there are a handful of trainers I avoid religiously because they are simply over matched, no matter what horse you give them. I will not, however, put money on a horse strictly based on the trainer.

Thanks DP, I don't wager on the trainer or jock either. IMO, it's the horse that wins the race. I also believe the jock can't win a race but sure as hell can lose it!

I do check out the Jockeys and Trainers and the J/T Combos in a race . I look at the Bad and Good ones in my opinion .
I just have certain J/T at certain tracks I will check out there entries.
I have some Trainers I will play like Butter that I have been playing for years when they show up with a decent Jockey on the horse.
These Trainers are usually very serious about winning a race if they put a horse in a race. (That horse is ready)
But of course some times nothing works as you know.
But J/T are not the only thing I consider . If I do that I may not play but a few races in a day.
As we all know Speed wins races , but trying to figure out if a horse might feel like running today can really be a pain.
If they decide they dont want to run you will not make that Big Rascal run .----:ohno:
As D P mentioned , I will not use the J/T angle alone in any race.

I ALWAYS cap the horses first and get my top 3-4 contenders. Then I move on to things like class, jock, trainer and condition stuff.
