2 probs facing the Purple, #1: QB. #2 OL. First what's out there for a QB?:think2: McNabb & Leftwich IMHO. As a lifelong Vike fan I would love to see McNabb in a purple uniform. Is it doable? I don't know, but if it is, Itzy should spend whatever is required to make it happen. Let's hear from some other fans re. this one. As for the OL, it'll have to be thru the draft, I guess.

They don't have the cap space for a QB unless they get rid of a key defender...

they were 16 Mil under! And if they have to get there to sign a QB, they'll find a way, They all do.

I honestly think the Vikes should try to get a franchise QB in the draft, unless they are happy with Tevaris Jackson. Not sure if he is the best fit, but I would rather have him than

I say both. The Vikes should pick up a veteran AND draft a QB. Short term fix, long term fix, and grooming benefits. And yes I think the Vikes would be wise to get McNabb... assuming they can.

Maybe I was wrong on their cap space but I swear I heard they did not have the room to acquire anyone. Either way, here is some info from Rotoworld:

"
Coach Brad Childress was "noncommittal" when asked about Tarvaris Jackson's future with the Vikings following Sunday's playoff loss.
The Vikings probably never should've used Jackson so early in his career considering how raw he was coming out of Alabama State, but it's too late now. They'll have to upgrade the position in the offseason, and not with another Gus Frerotte-type signing. Jackson will return in 2009, the final year of his contract, but likely only to play behind someone like Jeff Garcia, Matt Cassel, Kurt Warner, Derek Anderson, or possibly even Brett Favre."

If I was a Vikes fan I'd lobby to have McNabb play for a div rival. He sucks, I wouldn't have him pay me to play on my team.

A new head coach and offensive cooridinator would be the best changes.

A decent qb would be nice out of the draft.
