Said Manziel: "I let him know I’m not going to do anything that’s going to be a distraction to this team or be an embarrassment to the organization."

Rams QB Case Keenum discussed his promotion Tuesday, saying that he had many emotions when coach Jeff Fisher told him he was starting. His first, apparently, was to feel bad for the guy he’s replacing, Nick Foles. Keenum said Foles is one of his best friends and though Keenum is excited about the opportunity, he knows how it feels to lose a job.

Asked if he saw the injury to Patriots receiver Julian Edelman and if he thought about a missed opportunity to go back to New England, Rams receiver Wes Welker said he didn’t. “No, not really. I signed here. And I’m happy to be here and looking forward to helping (the Rams) win.” Welker signed with the Rams a week ago. Edelman broke a bone in his foot in Sunday’s game against the Giants.

Rams RB Todd Gurley spent part of his childhood in Baltimore and grew up a Ravens fan. He’s looking forward to going back to Baltimore for this weekend’s game. But he also made it clear those with ticket requests should seek other sources, “Stubhub.com, that’s all I’ve got to say,” Gurley said. Gurley said Ed Reed was his favorite player as a kid.

[h=1]Johnny Manziel issues statement

[/h]

"I appreciate the NFL's diligence and discretion in reviewing a situation that was both personal and embarrassing. Colleen and I cooperated fully with the NFL's process and completely support their goals of making sure that every family under their umbrella is safer and more secure. I'm grateful that the review was so thorough and fair that there should be no question left in the public mind about what actually happened. I'm looking forward to focusing my energies on our start against the Ravens and bringing a win for our fans in Cleveland."

Wondering how much help RB Marshawn Lynch is getting from his blockers? He had 42 yards Sunday. According to ESPN Stats & Information, Lynch had 43 yards after contact. In other words, he was getting hit in the backfield constantly. On the season, Lynch has averaged 1.60 yards before contact, which ranks 47th out of 50 players. Whatever he's gaining, he's gaining on his own.
