Referees, somehow, are making more terrible calls than ever. Somehow.

BUT QB's are just normal athletes getting hit by 320 lb weight trained HGH mutants, and star QB's are getting knocked out for the season more and more, and it is getting worse.

I, too, do not watch nearly as much football, especially NFL, but also NCAA, for this and other reasons.

Did you see the Roughing call on the Bears? Absolute horsecrap, both calls. On a side note, I couldn't stop laughing every time Bolles got called for holding. After his 4th holding call the camera would pan to him everytime a flag was thrown. The look on his face like "it wasn't me!" was hysterical.

That’s bullshit. Makes you wonder.......

To those who believe in part this is the Notorious Fixed League, officials can no longer make a blatant missed call on PI so now they have to resort to roughing calls or holding (happens on every play somewhere on the field??) to influence the game.

With you Pete as I watch very little if any NFL and once it cools off to be out fishing or not burning up there will be zero watching. Yeah I will follow a few guys on the RX and make a few peanut bets but watching more than 15 minutes of NFL, nope.

BOL to all the remainder of the year.

Pay the refs 1 million a year - 11 months keep a record of bad calls and fire them after a set number of bad calls

Agreed that the NFL is really becoming unwatchable. The calls like the roughing call just screams fix. I mean how else would the Bears have a shot? Then to boot, they make sure the bears have a second left to kick the game winner.

NFL getting sickening to watch. What about the Saints getting robbed yet again by “inadvertent whistle”. It’s getting to be like the WWF.

Also let us not forget that JJ Watt came out after the game yesterday & claimed an official told him that he saw a Jags player holding him and still did not throw a flag. His quote:

"There were a couple of holding calls out there, it's every week. The ref literally admitted to me that guy held me on one play, and he didn't throw the flag. I don't know what I'm supposed to do with that after a play. I look over at the ref and he says, 'Yes, I saw him hold you, but I didn't throw the flag."

How does the ref not get punished or fired for that if true.

In NCAA, it’s targeting calls. Football in general is trending downward.

Because the refs work for the NFL. They don’t need to be held accountable in an entertainment business. This is NOT real sports.

True, the NFL is registered as "Sports Entertainment"

Ah yes, now you've gotten to the meat of the problem. "entertainment" often equates to faked or rigged or not 100% on the up and up
How can someone believe these games are 100% straight when refs are not held accountable for their MILLIONS of mistakes is beyond me...
