Will be some of the ugliest politics we have seen. On both sides too, I fully expect ads questioning Obama's patriotism, ads questioning McCain's age, etc. With the state of the economy in the public eye, unless that fades in the background McCain's only chance is to tear Obama's character down. We will see which of these campaigns is most prepared to respond to the attacks and have responses already qued up. Waiting for DNC/Obama's September's #'s and the RNC had a really good month (#'s slip my mind right now...think 66 million)

They take the high ground and focus on middle American issues and it's a done deal.

lot of this will be third parties....i expect the actual campaign of mccain to be a bit more harsh than obama's. both sides 527's will be harsh though.

Does that 66 mil do anything? I thought Mc was locked in when he took the Govt money.

I get it all here... SE PA...battleground if McCain wants to have a shot here.

Interesting enough, Obama's hardest hitting stuff has been via radio ads. It's a way to seem to stay "above the fray" while still going negative. Media doesn't really pay attention to radio ads. I'd have to say for both candidates combined i'm seeing 75% negative ads compared to 25% positive...maybe even worse.

He's locked into i believe the number is 84 million...RNC can still raise and spend on his behalf (McCain/Palin raise on behalf of the RNC)

Think of it like this..McCain's 84 for 3 months (after convention money) is 28 million per month...so essentially RNC/McCain raised $94 million this month to spend. Unless DNC/Obama raise more than that amount in September money (I think they top it)....there is essentially no advantage for money raised that month.

RNC has to be a bit more restrictive with the money (can't technically collaborate with the McCain campaign....it happens though)...they can't use it for field offices, etc....it has to be spent by the RNC

Karl Rove and the repugs won't go down with a fight. they'll get dirty.

excpect more of the Rev. Wright, Attacks on Michelle Obama, Muslim accusations, and shit, I wouldn't be surprised if the Larry Sinclair story reared its head.

They'll try to go shock and awe, but it won't work. In actuality, it'll be they're downfall.

... and who said that the RNC will WANT TO spend it on McCain?

If the RNC feels the money is better spent on a tough Senate race (like Dole in NC), you can say buh-bye to McCain by early October.

Doesn't that money come from the RSCC for Senate races.. Since most of this money I believe is coming from Palin/McCain oriented fundraisers...I really doubt that are going to just give McCain the finger.
