Lt. Dan, no I have never had my 214 updated. Thanks for the info. Back in the early 90's I did a lot of work with Vets in the Boston area. I was lucky enough to have the VA when I needed it most. I remember attending some post tramatic stress syndrome meetings, but personally have never had any serious problems in that area. Some of the guys I came into contact with were pretty messed up. Also knew quite a few disabled (wheelchair) Vets from the Brockton, Mass Va. That hospital saved my life. Good luck with your trip.

Wil, here's a story for you - I was getting out 1/23/69, got drunk, made a fool of myself, and got arrested in NEast DC - the first shirt got even with me by making me march in Nixon's inaugural parade - or face charges - I marched (it was cold and misty rain that day) - I have a nice folder somewhere in my cellar thanking me for marching in his parade - did you know Nixon's middle name is Milhous.

As foir the other docs - I got my VA loan in 74 for my first house in Brockton. I can't rmemnber where I got it - I was working on my second kid - working two jobs and going to school full time nights on the GI bill - that part of my life is memories of always being tired and always smelling shitty diapers.

I don't miss those days, but all of that hard work has paid off in spades.

You lived in Brockton, I remember the hospital was (still is) on Belmont St. I have been to a ton of AA meetings in Brockton (early 90's). Milhaus I knew that, but he signs just Richard Nixon.
