Yanni is more of a moneymaker then Sid the kid vs. Ovechkin.

Yanni's concert forced the 2 teams to play a back to back.

Let alone the Detroit -Anaheim game wasn't even televised on TV yesterday. Versus had on Bull Riding over it.

This league is so pathetic lol.

having the red wings on TV in a playoff game is the equivalent of having the lakers on NBA TV.

uhhhhhh, no commish with an actual brain is going to let that happen.

Hockey can be an excellent spectator sport if you understand the game.

I am a huge hockey fan but probably because I grew up in New England. Hockey is like that in the US. The sport has regional hot spots of popularity and of course all of Canada and in some areas of Europe hockey is 2nd to soccer in popularity....

Hockey is a great game especially at the top level where some superbly conditioned atheltes compete with skill, stamina, intelligence and amazing reflexes seeing how they are on skates and playing on an ice rink.

Watch the Eastern Conference Semi-Final game 6 tomorrow nite in Carolina when The Bruins visit The Hurricanes if you want to see a rabid and noisy crowd pack an arena for high stakes playoff all out hockey.

People who dislike hockey don't bother me any more than people who like opera do. To each his own.

wil.

MLB shouldn't make anyone's list. I love the sport and I love playing it but watching it is about as exciting as counting rocks. NBA is fairly boring to me as well. Only thing worth watching is the last 2 minutes... and even then those last 2 minutes take an hour to finish. Not for me.

After seeing that you put hockey below baseball and the NBA I give you no credibility on the matter.

sorry

Hockey is a crystal fast action cage match played in acrylic glass. Some folks can't follow the puck. I played and have the deformed lip as reminder. Who cares. I like some opera and have watched Andrea Bocelli's Night in Tuscany dozens (and dozens) of times. MLB and NFL are both starting to glass my eyes. I'm starting to watch more soccer, track, MMA, college baseball and college wrestling. It was not many years ago that both the NFL and the NBA were almost laughably insignificant unwatched upstarts. Times change.

Love hockey playoffs, very exciting to follow, especially the overtime games. Hockey is a great sport to watch live, does not translate well on tv which I think hurts the sport more than anything

What is your source for this claim? At one point in the regular season
it did not look like the Pens would make the playoffs, let alone end up
as the 4th seed and a fav to make it to the Cup final.

"If anyone is to blame, it is the person scheduling events at the arena. If that person had any forethought and vision they would have kept the events scheduled when there would not be a playoff game. This always happens with the Twins/Vikes and the Metrodome and I believe that if you want to make money on a venue and make it multipurpose, you have to look at all of the scenarios and then book accordingly. It doesn't matter if it is Yanni or No Doubt or U2-these artists have their own schedule/tour/bills to pay and they should not have to cancel their own shows-disappoint fans and lose revenue-because someone did not remember that last year the Pens were in the STANLEY CUP HUNT. Did they not think that their team would be in the playoffs?? I feel badly for the team, but this is a Mellon scheduling issue. This always happens here in March, with the team complaining that they never play at home at the stretch-because the Wild want to rake in more moolah with the hockey and wrestling tournies...."

Actually, it is debatable. Ovechkin is just as exciting.

While I got you here GTC08, tell me what exciting moments I've missed in the NBA playoffs? As great as the Bulls/Celts was, Miami/Atlanta may have been the worst 7-game series ever. These playoffs are bad this year. Too bad you hate the NHL, the playoffs have been outstanding.
