Long lines at the airports with 3 hour waits. A murder suicide at UCLA which is probably going to turn out to be the result of a student-professor grade dispute, or something out of the movie "Whiplash." Before 2001 today's UCLA story would have travelled less than 100 miles. Now you get full campus shutdown, full mobilization of the police and other law enforcement agencies, and 3 all news networks breathlessly awaiting the next bullet. Probably a million dollar plus expenditure today, for an event which although tragic took 5 seconds, followed by 3 hours of hiding under desks.

emphasize the bad, twist, distort & manipulate, they tell us as a nation what we should be thinking about

the founding fathers believed a free press would be the protectors of democracy, I doubt they ever imagined it would morph into a terminal cancer






while I do blame the agenda driven media and self serving educators, I do realize this may be a "what comes first, the chicken or the egg" dilemma

Now THIS is what you call nailing it. It was a guess purely based upon what part of the campus (engineering dept) it was and the calendar (finals week).
