1. both came out of nowhere when there countries were on the brink of disaster with promises to bring back the glory days.
2. promises to get everyone working and involved and to serve the country.
3. charismatic, great speakers who got large crowds, very intelligent. both have award winning books. mein kampf, dreams from my father, audacity of hope.
4. both are seen as the leader of the future.
5. both are loved by the public. hitler was adored by the public, but had a small minority that disliked him. same with obama, except the small minority that dislikes him can network with each other unlike before.
6. both are viewed as messiahish in some circles.

now the difference between obama and hitler, was hitler openly wanted a one race society, all of that is discussed in mein kampf. obama is good, but they share similarities in those respects.

both reinvigorated there nations and brought more people into the political process as well.

hitler accomplished what he said. rebuilt germany, made it into one of the most powerful countries in the world. i disagree with what he did, but at the same time recognize what he did to rebuild germany after world war 1.

now the question will be if obama can rebuild america in a similar way. except with all of the killings, etc. more or less, the idea that someone can spark a nation to get involved again like hitler did with germany.

in a good way fletch. read world history. germany after the hitler takeover was one of the most productive countries in world history up until world war II. hitler was a crazy guy and I disagree with what he did, but there's no denying he had a profound impact on making germany a world power. his insaneness though is where I differ him and obama though. obama is a good leader who will rebuild america, and unite the country. hitler did the same thing to, but he was insane and wanted to take over the world. obama=good, hitler=bad, elementary so fletch can see what i mean.

But the ability to rebuild a country, unite a nation, etc. I would say that historically there is a similarity.

scott's going to hate me for this one.

some of you need to read world history. anyone who argues that the german society mid 30's to pre wwII wasn't one of the most productive, innovative, and prosperous nations is kidding themselves. there's a reason why the US wanted all the nazi minds after wwII. these guys came up with some of the most innovative weaponry, manufacturing breakthroughs, known to man.

scott won't admit it because he has a block against the word hitler but too bad.

I thought I was the only one exploring the similarities between Hitler and Obama. I disagree with those that say Hitler was good for Germany besides the killings and the wars and all that. He set the country up for economic disaster which always happens when you rapidly expand the money supply.

Maybe you should, too, and something more thorough than one-page summaries. Anyone with a little knowledge realises that the similarities between Hitler and Obama are purely superficial, but I'll definitely not enter into an argumentation with you.

WASHINGTON (Map, News) - A Republican congressman from Georgia is calling President-elect Obama a Marxist and warning that he might be planning to form a Gestapo-like security force so he can rule as a dictator.Two-term Rep. Paul Broun of Athens cited a July speech that has circulated on the Internet in which Obama called for a civilian force to take some of the national security burden off the military.
Broun said he was not fearmongering but wants to warn people that the nation could be going down that path.
His comments came in a Monday telephone interview with The Associated Press after he called Obama a Marxist at a Rotary Club meeting in his district over the weekend.

Well, if that isn't proof that Obama intends to install a Gestapo-like secret police then I do not know what is...

Oh Zit, will you ever post something sensible?

This just doesn't read right...

Depends where you put the quotes.

A: I disagree with those that say "Hitler was good for Germany besides the killings and the wars and all that"

reads fine, while

B: I disagree with those that say "Hitler was good for Germany" besides the killings and the wars and all that

is a bit weird.

All it takes is to consider a couple of different possibilities and usually things fall into place.

people will just automatically go gahhhh because i mentioned hitler, but just read world history. hitler turned a country in shambles into a world power in less than 10 years. he united the people, reinvigorated the country, got everyone to work.

what he did was despicable in killing the jews and all, but there's no question his rhetoric of hope and change was something the German people got behind. Now if Hitler didn't end up being a blood thirsty maniac, Germany would probably be the preeminent world power today.

Just look at half the scientific breakthroughts in the last half century. Half of those were due to nazi scientists.
