many people like to cite their study which ranks the USA 37th in the world as proof we need Obamacare

The World Health Organization's ranking of the world's health systems was last produced in 2000, and the WHO no longer produces such a ranking table, because of the complexity of the task.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If want a good laugh, read some of the footnotes on their report, look at some of the factors they measure and look at some of the countries they list ahead of the USA.
"based on estimates", "inconsistencies in measurement between countries", "some data not available for many countries", 'medical professionals in different countries disagree about different issues".
----------------------------------------------------------
suffice to say, one of the primary reasons our health care sucks is because we spend too much money. Well, spending a lot of money is a problem, but it has ZERO value in measuring the quality of health care services.
Our health care also sucks because we're too fat and use too many drugs. Is that the tail wagging the dog or what?
it ignores stuff like we treat everybody virtually on demand, including 20 million illegals.
----------------------------------------------------------
subjectivity? they decide what variables to weigh, how to measure them and how much weight to give to each. A little tweak here and there, and you can arrive at just about any conclusion you desire
------------------------------------------------------------
my favorite footnote
governments may not agree with how we're doing things or our findings (no fucking shit)
