So far the Tea Baggers are 0 for the Primary season. Maybe the Real Republicans will stop being so afraid of them and take back their party?

The Tea Party loses three Senate primaries

In three Republican Senate primaries Tuesday, establishment-supported candidates squared off against more conservative challengers — and, as expected, in all three the establishment won. Here are the key results:
[h=3]Georgia: Perdue and Kingston advance to a runoff[/h] Some Republicans once feared that Georgia's five candidates would split the vote so much that a far-right candidate could advance to a runoff election and win it — which would put this GOP-held open seat at great risk in the fall. But that didn't pan out. Two candidates widely viewed as electable — businessman David Perdue and Rep. Jack Kingston — were the top two vote-getters, with about 30 percent and 26 percent of the vote, respectively. Rep. Paul Broun, who's said that evolution and the Big Bang Theory are "lies straight from the pit of hell," and Rep. Phil Gingrey, who defended Todd Akin's comments about "legitimate rape," finished in fourth and fifth, with only about 10 percent of the vote each. The runoff between Perdue and Kingston will take place on July 22, and the winner will go on to face Democratic candidate Michelle Nunn.
[h=3]Oregon: Monica Wehby wins the nomination[/h] A month ago, Republican insiders would have been thrilled that pediatric neurosurgeon Monica Wehby defeated a conservative rival. The GOP hoped to put the seat of Sen. Jeff Merkley (D) in play, and originally thought Wehby could best do that. Yet some recent revelations have cast doubt on Wehby's electability — the Oregonian reported that both her ex-husband and an ex-boyfriend accused her of stalking and harassment in recent years. However, these reports probably came too late to sway the election — since Oregon votes entirely by mail, 50 percent of the votes were likely already in when that news was reported, according to Harry Enten of FiveThirtyEight. New polling of this race will help clarify whether it's still a potential Republican pickup despite these recent developments.
[h=3]Kentucky: Mitch McConnell easily wins his primary[/h] The Senate's minority leader beat back a Tea Party primary challenge, winning about 60 percent of the vote. Though McConnell is a Washington insider and had angered conservatives by arranging certain deals with the White House, businessman Matt Bevin's campaign failed to ever gain real traction. Now, McConnell advances to the general election, where a strong Democratic challenger — Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes — is waiting for him.
[h=3]The takeaway[/h] In 2010 and 2012, little-known far-right candidates managed to win several GOP Senate nominations in crucial races, against establishment-anointed choices. That's happening much less often this year. In all three of Tuesday's elections, the GOP establishment got what it wanted.

I agree, but The Republicans are getting smarter, and avoiding such jokes. I also think nominal Senate Control is somewhat irrelevant, unless either side has a veto proof majority, which won't happen. As long as the House can block everything, nothing big will get done for the next 2 years through legislation. http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/the-2014-election-is-the-least-important-in-years/

I think McConnell is terrible.

The race in GA will be exciting. Sam Nunn is like a God in the Red state. If his daughter is more like a southern democrat as her father was....she may win.

Jack Kingston - He is an interesting character. He wants to implement a work for welfare program. I would love to see it, but there is no way that would ever pass.

We agree. McConnell is a horror show. I wonder how many people who say they can't stand him, will now be hypocrites and support him and/or vote for him if they can, just because he's an R? I am fascinated by that race, plus Grimes is Hot.

that's it, the Tea Party is dead

Americans are all united and happy again, because they all be loving the same ole same ole

in all seriousness, how on god's good earth (the god of your choice of course), be happy with the status quo? how the fuck can they want to continue down the same path with the same ole politicians in charge

"the greatest argument against a democratic form of government is a 5 minute conversation with the average voter", man did Churchill nail that one.

I don't know anything about the people who lost or won, don't care, my comments are directed to those so scared of people that actually want to change DC. Tea Party members in DC aren't playing nice with all them there lifetime politicians, they want to honor their promises, which makes them radicals in DC. which makes them radicals to the democrats that control the message, which leads them to be hated by the people who hate the most, liberals.

just follow follow follow follow follow the yellow brick road, the Wiz will solve all your problems. Certainly a greater probability than DC will

the transformation of McConnell’s campaign from 2008 to 2014 shows the overwhelming persuasive and redemptive power of the Tea Party. In 2008, the Senate minority leader ran a series of ads touting his success at bringing home the bacon. In 2014, his campaign had lost that aroma. McConnell himself helped end earmarks in 2010 and recently said no to Majority Leader Harry Reid’s call to restore the disgraced practice. McConnell’s evolving message shows how the real Tea Party can co-opt and win over the GOP establishment when it sticks to its principles.
In fact, thanks to the Tea Party, the old-style “bring home the bacon” campaigns have largely been wiped off the electoral map. Even Democrats have joined the Tea Party’s anti-pork campaign. Mark Udall, Claire McCaskill and Elizabeth Warren have all vocally opposed earmarks, a rare challenge to Reid’s rigid party discipline.

the lifetime politicians and their media enablers rely on low information voters, and they come through time and time and time again

Uh, the Tea Party helped send Mike Lee, Ron Johnson, Pat Toomey, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, and Rand Paul into the Senate. The Tea Party will help send another Senator from Nebraska into the upper chamber this fall.

It seems as if the forum poster who started this thread is a rank idiot, or something.

PS: The Most Botched House Race of 2014 was done by the rank idiot who started this thread's party, the Democrats.

PPS: I've always enjoyed this photo (computer in background and everything!) of rank forum idiot the guesser railing against the Tea Party

You are correct. Sasse was Tea Party backed. My error. He's the only one so far. Let's see if he implodes during the campaign, although in Nebraska, it won't matter.

Not your 'error'...it's what happens when you do nothing but read loon far left blogs.

Now with FratFraud gone, guess who is the dumbest poster in here now?

I'll gladly take being called dumb over being a continuous proven Liar with Zero Credibility, a Proven Terrorist Supporter, someone who is pathetically wrong in virtually every post he makes down here, or a vile, racist Anti Muslim pig. Thanks.
