All this talk of fade the public, etc etc etc etc

All the easy games went fine for all those that elected to gamble on them. Dolphins, Packers, Bengals, Arizona Cardinals, Chiefs all rolled. We'll see on this Giants Cowboys game. I didnt bet on any of these games electing to stay away (I liked the heavy public side in all of them, but the ZOMG FADE THE PUBLIC!) kept me away. Just early season gifts for those who were smart enough not to listen to the noise, and try and get cute with crafty plays like Jacksonville or Oakland. Good God.

I think all the square stuff is overrated. When it doesn't work it's square, when it does it's suddenly sharp. That thought annoyed me today as I saw all those clear winners clean up.

I usually wouldn't comment here, but let me help you..

First, if "fade the public" is your idea of capping, then you're doing it wrong. Second, there were plenty of fantastic cappers here who had big days with public favorites. Third, if they were really that easy, you would have put your money down faster than you could blink your eye.. And most importantly, NEVER, and I mean NEVER let someone get you off a play you like. Point spreads are line movement are JUST OTHER PEOPLES OPINION. Some opinions are better than others so you'll have to weed out some of the trash (50%+ of the threads here included) GL in the future

Fading the public is not how I cap... it's been how I choose which games to cap. I usually stay away from it if the public is is heavily loaded on a side. Meanwhile... I thought I capped the Jacksonville Carolina game well (52/48 siding by all I saw). I had the teams pretty even all things considered, and Jacksonville fiddle fucked it away time and again. Game was capped correctly, it was a loss by me, taking the bait again on a losing franchise and getting cute while choosing not to even attempt to cap all the heavy public games. Will try to make it lesson learned. Bottom line is like you said in a way; none of this "public" stuff really matters at all. It's just touts throwing stuff at a wall to support their point.

All the squares are chasing Dal and the over tonight. If you were going to fade the public you should have waited until the prime time night game and played NYG and the under like me! Gotta love all these punts and long clock chewing drives resulting in FGs. Chasers be pulling their hair watching Romo snap the ball with 1 second left on the play clock everytime lol And now Giants fumble return for a TD! Fade the public son! Your timing was just off!

Kid - You're 100% right. If you faded the public today, you got crushed. Simple as that.

As for tonight's game, all the sites I saw were about 60/40 on Dallas, that's not a heavy % either way by any means. The squares won today...will that continue? Highly doubtful. But as ET said, if all you're looking at is the public betting %, then you're going to struggle to win.

Jajaja lol

This guy is a genius after the 2nd quarter of games

Good luck! Just wondering if anybody is on NYG and Under tonight? Lots and lots of love for Dallas -6/-6.5 and over 51/52 across the sports forums. Very one sided action. I'm on the other side and played a unit each on NYG +6.5 and Under 52. Good luck to you and everyone else.

You want to fade the public when the line moves against the public. Not all public favs are bad.

Indy today was the anti public play, getting massive public support while the line dropped to PK by kickoff

Proof that knowing how to make your own number and base your plays on your own information as compared to the actual line is the best way to cap the NFL, proof is in my thread. I don't care what anyone bets or what the public bets. I trust my own numbers.

Bingo. Don't even let it enter the equation.
