Imagine that. A reason for the champs to legitimately get theirselves up for a big game before April and the "real" Red Wing team get interested. 4-0 at this typing, maybe it's time NOW to get "disinterested".

Wow! very impressive win by Detroit tonight.

That offer of 6/1 for Detroit to win the cup is still open to anyone that wants to put their money where their mouth is.

Clearly a overlay considering the best you can find anywhere is 4/1.

Now THAT'S value!

It was San Jose's 3rd road game in 4 nights (LA, Columbus, Detroit). San Jose played a grueling hard fought game against a hungry Columbus team just last night.

This was a game Detroit should win.

lol. The "best" team in hockey got BETTER in the offseason. Not worse. From June till the season began there wasn't a sole that could tell you Detroit wasn't heads and tails better than ANY team on the planet. I'll say it again. They THEN went out and improved their goaltending and picked up arguably the best RW in the game that sole reason he came her was to win a Cup. There was nothing up until this point of the season that evidently movitated the Wings until tonight. Personally i'm still not impressed with San Jose's chances this season as long as Joe Thornton is on this team. He's not a winner. Anaheim and Pittsburgh concern me much more than the Sharks. Anaheim's core players have all won a cup and Pittsburgh knocked on the door last year. They know what it takes to win it all. EVERYONE else IMO are a step below come playoff time unless the 100 year deal in Montreal lights a fire under their asses.

Detroit didnt NEED to dominate anyone this season and they didnt until tonight. That fella's...was an ass kickin. Nobody's been the least bit nervous on the RW bench thru this point. No reason to.

Montreal is awful. Pitt is overrated and Anaheim is mediocre.

I think the Wings biggest threats are the Sharks in the West and then the Bruins and Caps in the East.

Sounds sensible until we see that in past 12 outings where Sharks were playing Away 3rdin4 (with game on previous night), they were 9-3 coming in.

Certainly a nice smakdown of the record breaking (best start to NHL season ever) Sharks.

And now I think it's time You Guys stopped the DetroitIsOverrated smak

They better get a bit more separation from Vancouver (just five Pts in standings entering tonight). Because if Nucks pass them and BobbyLu comes back healthy, they'll have trouble getting through Couver in seven game series

Your handicapping the President's Cup with those remarks surely?

Cause the playoffs are a whole different animal.

Timmy Thomas sure looks great in November and December. Wonder how he holds up in a Stanley Cup final.

If you guys don't take me up on this then I have to offer it at Matchbook. Then I lose 2% on my winnings when the Detroit Red Wings choke the big one come June.

Boston or Washington will represent the East in the Cup. That's almost a given as far as I'm concerned.

Coincidentally, Tim Thomas was awful tonight and was pulled prior to the third period. Manny Fernandez however has won 8 of his last 9 starts for Boston.

That's cool, keep doubting. Just like I doubt your Wings.

Caps are quietly on fire having won 5 in a row and 7 of 8. As long as we keep getting solid goaltending and avoid any more injuries we'll be fine.
