If you read any post by Redneckman, Jointpleasure, The Right Wing, BBlight, etc, it usually starts with "Left wing wackjob socialist..." and now it has progressed to people calling anyone who disagrees with them a traitor. People don't seem to realize that calling someone a traitor is the same thing as calling for their execution, since that is the penalty for treason. It's because mental midgets like Ann Coulter use the word so carelessly that it has just become another catchphrase for people like the Right Wing. This was an established pattern before I started posting in the politics forum. How else should I respond to this kind of thing? Tolerance works both ways - would you tolerate someone who says that you are plotting to bring harm to America?

I don't think that you would ever see me mocking people of faith, if so could you please point this out to me so I can apologize? Even though I am not a person of faith, each person should believe whatever they feel to be the truth. We can argue about who is right, but that is not the same thing as mocking your religion. You should avoid lumping everyone who posts from a liberal point of view together in one basket, just as I am able to separate my opinion of you from my opinion of The Right Wing.

I do see your point about people "on my side" sometimes throwing around the term traitor or anti-american or whatever...i know people can disagree with the Government and still love their country, thats why i don't throw those terms around...i try not to lump people from "your side" into one, but at times its hardnot to when arguingpolitics...it takes on such a gang mentality, which i don't like and i will try and stop doing...either way, i have many liberal friends that i have many things in common with, so i know that tolerance can go a long way..

I'm sorry if that offended you. I was responding to what I thought was a flippant quote to begin with, and I was referring to the hearings the Kansas school board is having regarding evolution vs. creationism. I'll admit it's hard for me to believe that anyone thinks what's in the Bible is accurate on a word for word basis, and that they would dismiss evolution when there is scientific evidence supporting it just because it deviates from their religious beliefs. Be that as it may, I didn't mean to mock people of faith, and I apologize.

He may has just as well tossed a grenade into the American tents. Lefties need to just shut up and let the republicans keep you safe - It doesn't get as many Americans killed that way. They were able to prove 10 percent of the accusations were false, thusly discrediting the other 90 percent which was true. As in this case with Newsweek, Rove puts his pitbulls on the case and Time Inc/Newsweek puts its head between its legs. This information has been widely desseminated before Newsweek printed it. Even if Newsweek or anybody else printed 100 percent lies it would not matter to the fanatics in Arabia, they need little encouragement to assemble to riot. These are the people W wants to democratize, who is he kidding? Their sheiks have been around a long time before W and will remain so long after. Each day we get more Americans killed over there for nothing, I know, sad but true. I guess its true, to most Republicans - any war is good war!:sad3:
