Gameface and whoever is entitled to their opinion ... I lived in a 3rd world country and most Americans should shut their flappin traps up right now ... ya dont know how good ya truely have it ... 1/3 of the world tries to get by on less than $2 per day!!!

Our poorest poor are living as royalty compared to the several hundred million Dalit in India

By the way, while the USA is year after year the largest philanthropic nation, that philanthropy is less than .2% of our Gross National Product. Powel admitted this is true this morning.

That is two-tenths-of-one-percent. Imagine if we gave just 1%!

For example, one of our USD is = to 45 rupees. The average salary of a middle-class man in Bangalore, India is 3,300 rupees...that is $73/year.

It takes only about $300 USD to feed and clothe an orphan for an entire year. That is about 82 cents a day. Most of us spend more than that at the candy machine every day. We will spend $4 for a cup of coffee at Starbucks...or $1.50 for a bottled water over lunch...but we start crowing "how dare they" when the world actually challenges our gluttony and selfishness?!

The leverage is unfathomable. A little bit of our blessings can go a long way in this hurting world. There are 700 million children in India that only get 3 or 4 MEALS A WEEK!

Do you all realize that they will never ever know the full body count? Do you know why? Because tens of thousands of orphans run the city streets (every India city) competing with the dogs and cattle for scraps. Many of those orphans were washed away. No one here on earth knows how many there were. How many are gone forever?!

DO you know that the startup costs for an orphanage for 135 children in the Bangalore area is about $35,000. That includes the building, kitchen, dormitory rooms, clothing, furniture, food, and school supplies. We have spent how many hundresds of millions in every city in the USA for our sports palaces?

India is just one hurting country. Multiply the pain across Africa, across other parts of Asia, across Iraq, and Afganistan...how many hundred million will lay down with no dinner tonight with no bed or roof?

I hate the United NAtions and everything it stands for. I love the USA. But on this one, the UN is correct. The USA should hang its collective head in shame.

Jesus - Doc Mullah made a post without badmouthing Bush - will wonders never cease?

Wonder # 2 is that I agree with Doc Mullah - I've been to a half dozen third world countries in my life and the living conditions are truely deplorable. Death, disease and poverty are no strangers to third world children. The stink and the pevalence of flies is your first indicator; then there's the large number of crippled and maimed people - and finally the shacks that all of them live in.

I'm still amazed that flies will buzz around, land on, and walk all over the faces and skin of many of these people, and it doesn't seem to bother them - while I'm going crazy batting and swatting.

shut up you idiotic Neo-Con ...

Is Bush mentioned ONE TIME? Again, you since you obviously did not advance past 2nd grade reading levels, how in the heck would you know what this article is about??

Again, shut your phony ass up ... we have people starving to death with over 120,000 dead so far and all you give a crap about is Bush's "image" ....

It is at times like these that arrogant American pricks like yourself make it easy to understand why the USA is hated around the world ...

Again, shut the f____ up as who in the hell cares about Bush's "Image" at this point in time ....

You are really embarrassing ...

So, Doc...

I'm assuming that you plan on dropping off your next paycheck at the nearest homeless shelter? Or how about your next 10 paychecks? After all, those people have so much less than you do. Since you're on the internet, that means you own a computer. You're therefore far wealthier than the homeless are, so you're nothing short of a blowhard hypocrite if you don't offer to donate everything you have.

You obviously visit this site for gambling related purposes. How do you live with yourself knowing that you have enough money to wager on sporting events, while that same money could instead be used to help feed poorer people? Or can I assume you give every cent of your winnings to charity?

Spare us all your bleeding heart b*llshit. It's pathetic and easily seen through.

Before you run off and say "dohh, you don't understand the problem", realize that I, too, have been to third world countries and seen living conditions all over the world. I've seen everything from naked kids playing on top of piles of garbage in India to a families living in cardboard boxes on the side of the road in Brazil. When I choose to help them, I do. But I will not do it when its expected of me, or if someone else is trying to dig into my own pockets and do it for me.

I hear you, judge. My point wasn't to say that libs never give to charity. I think it should be left up to individuals to decide what they think is appropriate to give, but fools like doc mullah don't. I'm calling him out for his faulty logic.

So how about actually answering my question, doc? How can you justify still owning a computer, paying for internet access, and betting on sports when there are people who go to bed hungry every night? Even if you gave tens of thousands of dollars to charity last year, you are still far better off than the less fortunate and can therefore afford to give even more.

Right?

Doc Mullah is such a liar - look at all of the things he says he did! I bet he did none of them except maybe taking in the 8 dogs. The only reason he probably took those 8 dogs was to eat them - what else could you do with EIGHT dogs?

85 million donated by US to relief effort. More than 85 million is spent and wasted every four hours in Iraq, and the insurgets are soon going to be the favorites to win this thing.

Because by your logic, it means you haven't given enough to charity. You own a computer and access the net, which instantly means you're more privelaged and wealthy than a good number of people in this country.

you are an American and question the need to help out folks in a life / death struggle

Now you're not only nefarious, but you flat out lie. Show me one post I've ever written where I question the idea of helping those less fortunate when it isn't someone else reaching into my wallet and doing it for me.

I operate a business out of my home

First, male masseuse outcall services don't count. Secondly, do you give 100% of your profits to charity? If not, then by your logic...you could stand to give some more.

I contributed over 20k last year to charities ...

A) I don't believe you

B) even if this were true...you still come to this site to get information to gamble on sports, which means you have plenty more money to burn. Therefore, you haven't given enough to charity.

Have you been on vacation in the last few years? Eaten at a restaurant where items on the menu are more expensive than at other places? Gone to a movie or concert? I'd be willing to bet 100grand that your answer is yes to all of these questions. Because you chose to spend your money on those luxury items instead of giving it to charity, you're a hypocrite fro criticizing others for not giving enough.

Your logic, not mine.

JACKASS, I PLAY PERIODICALLY AND $50 GAME ... HOW BOUT YOU? I HAVE A FEELING YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS TO MANKIND START AND END WITH BUYING BOOZE FROM THE LOCAL 7-11

IDIOT ... I EAT FOOD ... I DO THE BASICS LIKE EVERYONE ELSE ... AGAIN, I WOULD GATHER YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS TO SOCIETY START AND END WITH YOUR TRIP TO THE BOOZE STORE

I CONTRIBUTE PROBABLY MORE TO SOCIETY IN ONE MONTH THAN YOU HAVE IN YOUR ENTIRE LIFE ... usually those like yourself that are trying to find faults with others have faults a mile long

Go look in the mirror ... you will see yourself, Jdeuce, and that most likely is a very shallow man whose entire concern centers around your entire exsistence

Doc, first of all...your insults are weak. Seriously. None of them are funny.

I PLAY PERIODICALLY AND $50 GAME

Mmm hmm. Does 'periodically' mean every night to you? I follow action's hoops threads, and know you do too. At least I can admit it.

Anyways, that's another 'periodical' $50 you're not giving to charity. You're missing my entire point here (as usual). You're the one whining about how us Americans are so selfish and cynical...yet despite you claiming you give bucketloads of cash to charity, you still seem to find ample funds to gamble with (which is in itself a pretty selfish act). By your logic, not mine, that means you aren't really doing everything you can to help those who are less fortunate than others.

Whats really funny though is your idiocy and hypocrisy levels are now soaring into the inexhaustible zone:

I DO THE BASICS LIKE EVERYONE ELSE ...

So by 'doing the basics like everyone else' aren't you equating yourself with all those people who you take so much pleasure in bashing? You have come out and said we're a selfish lot who are unconcerned with what goes on in the rest of the world. Then you say you're just like those same people. Doesn't that strike you as a bit...well, odd and hypocritical?

What it really is would be classic elitism at its finest...you can go do what you like, but you expect everyone else to act differently.

BUYING BOOZE FROM THE LOCAL 7-11

Nah. Rare is the month where I'll have more than one beer/drink. I'm not much of a drinker to be honest. I try to keep myself in the best shape I can, and just prefer to stay away from the juice as much as possible.

But did you enjoy your 6-pack you went out to buy today? My guess is you can only afford Schlitz...or you borrowed just enough money from mom and dad to buy yourself and your male date a wine spritzer.

I CONTRIBUTE PROBABLY MORE TO SOCIETY IN ONE MONTH THAN YOU HAVE IN YOUR ENTIRE LIFE

Bwaaahaha. Good one.

You know nothing at all about my life...because if you did, you'd realize what an asinine statement that is to make. You said you operate your own business, and I'm guessing that it isn't geared towards the betterment of society. My line of work involves assistance in ensuring the continued security of our citizens (including sorry asses like yourself...and no, I'm not a cop or government employee). Hence, I'd probably forget more about working for the benefit of society in one day than you would ever know in your entire life.

Oh, and btw...great call on New Mexico today, d*ckhead. Navy happened to be my bowl game of the year. I'm fanning myself with a stack of hundies courtesy of you and your sorry assed handicapping ilk.
