One of the best movies ever made - I think I've seen it about a hundred times. I love Victor McGlaughlins line "He'll regret it to his dying day, if ever he lives that long"

They just don't make them like that any more.

I wish they would put more of the old movies on, I haven't seen some for years.

Day of the Triffids
The day the earth stood still.
The good the Bad and the Ugly.
The war of the worlds.
Seven Days in May.

That kinda stuff.

TV Entertainment is dominated by freakshow peepshow stuff nowadays.

I use to go to the Quiet Man Pub in Dover NJ with my dad. The place was small and had great food. Always a line to get a seat there. Had pictures from the movie all over the walls.

In fact, the movie is our mom's favorite movie ever.

Remember Victor with Archie Leach in Gunga Din, and all of the others movies - and there's Ward Bond - another great actor - and Barry Fitz shines in the Quiet man - the part where he's galloping past Cohans and the horse automatically stops and Barry says " you got more sense than me" and goes into Cohans for a pint.

Those old movies are very entertaining.

BB, my only St Patty's day tradition is to pop in the Quiet Man. Still one of my favorite movies ever.It was John Ford's labor of love. Stellar cast, great script, and talk about a beautiful setting. Best lines of the movie,"Here's a good stick to beat the lovely lady with" and "Me sister, your widow...."
