I went through very similar circumstances, and I am not a one post ghost. Two differences, I worked a small balance into a big balance, and froze all incoming action when payments started getting delayed. I got all of the same lame excuses, meetings, unavailable, the worst stalling tactics I have seen in the business. However, I would not play again, would not give one cent back. There are other details I shared with other sportsbook managers, who indeed shared some of the same attitudes as Boberto. They had deep pockets but were stalling. They desired two end results, to get me out, that worked, and to piss me off, to lose my money back. Worked with this guy, FROG don't play that. As far as them being a top tier book, not a chance. Their rep has been destroyed. Utterly disgraced. They are a disgrace to everyone in the offshore industry. I hope that is not too strong or offensive, Richard. I am a career player, and I will never, ever give Royal another chance. I hate to win and run, but they are just a junk bond book now.

Best Wishes...OF:howdy:

Talk about Karma, the last CC I got from them bought my Gateway plasma. It blew up, on Friday the 13th, the 13 month I owned it, out of warranty, and not repairable, as Gateway just burned me every which way they could. I have since read the reviews, and it is ugly. Even people who bought extended warranties get a refurbed unit. One guy is on his 4th in one year. Mine is in the repair shop, no parts available. I actually went through Gateway, who referred me to Decision One. A lot of laid off IBMers and low performers went there. The service guy was honest enough to tell me he could not get any parts for it. I will buy another Gateway product right after I start playing at Royal again, hey look at that a flying pig!!!

Just an example Clip. Simon is with Pinnacle.

LOL...my bad. I had a brain fart.

The Simon I was referring to works with that group's affiliate program. Definitely NOT Simon Noble.

Actually it is a plasma TV 46". My custom built desktops, I had two built identical for backup, actually lost hard drive with boot record irretrievable data and boot record hareware failure, failed 3 months after warranty expired. So I figure I spent 6 dimes with them in a one year period. The only thing I got from Gateway was we can't help you, your warranty has expired. Do you want to pay to talk to a technician. I diagnosed and fixed PC myself. Let me tell you Capt, the word funny does not enter my mind when I think about Gateway. The blog reviews on them are just brutal. I am a loyal lifetime type of customer. But burn me, and I am done for life, and will share my negative experiences with at least 100 other people.

Lesson to be learned from Royal, never deposit more than you have to, and freeze all plays if a slow pay situation develops. Royal was autopay on Neteller, had been around for years with a good rep. They even bailed out other books after that. I knew something was up when they cancelled the auto pay.

Gateway, buying a big ticket item when a retail outlet is closing, reviews were unavailable because the product is so new. Although I mooched a 35% discount, the inability to return it retail was a huge out I overlooked. No way of foreseeing inability to supply parts for it. A learning experience, paid over 3 dimes for 1 year use, actually less than 13 months. Unfunny to me.

Best Wishes...OF :howdy:

This is a true story from Larry that owned DelMar. When he first started, he took a bet from a player for over a million dollars. The guy won the bet. He didn't have all the money to pay the guy off so he mortgaged all the property he had and sold almost everything to pay off the player.

A few months later the player lost it all back along with another 2.5 million.
From then Larry and Delmar never looked back and today is one of the top books in the offshore industry.

What's so great about that? He booked a bet that he didn't have the money on hand to pay. I would expect nothing less but for him to sell off everything he owed in order to pay the customer. I see the point you're trying to make but bad example.

"That is not good enough though and Major asks that I get him in contact with the player. I did so shortly ago calling Major with David on the phone. Major said I am busy, do not post on my forum again, and hung up. "

Major is quite the players advocate.

I have never or will I ever play at Royal. Bottom line is slow pay.....maybe no pay...only time will tell. Bad business model. Don't like his action? Pay the man and cut him off. Swallow your pride. Can't afford his action lower his limits. Top tier? Big bankroll? Who cares...they stall and what's next?

Unfortunately they fail on the most sensitive issue in this industry: payouts.

Frog you should look into getting a projector... I got a sweet 120 inches hanging off my living room wall and it never ever fails to wow the hunnies!!!!

You can get an acceptable unit with HD for about 8k to 10k although the prices have been shooting down of recent. If you use mine like i do, ( i watch at least 4hrs of tv a day mixed in with a regular play station game and movie on weekends) you will have to drop another say 500 to 1k a year on a new bulb. All you have to do is clean it every 2 or 3 months... Its light as hell (compared to a plasma) and those things can last forever without suffering the crap most lcd, plasma and widescreens suffer from....

Trust, me, get that thing hooked up right and entertainment takes on a whole new meaning.

Last I talked to the player, he said that he was to call Major in an hour. That was maybe an hour before Shrinks post. I am in hopes that Major was just upset with me and will not allow that to cloud his judgement in getting this guy paid asap.

Clip, I posted over at MW and that led to me being accused of shilling and having an agenda. That is all FINE with me. Read it for yourself and decide.

My goal is to get this guy paid soon. He was the last case on docket when I stepped down. Looking for closure here.

frog,

here is my Gateway experience. I bought my first computer from them. I liked it very much and liked Gateway. I dont remember how long I had it, but maybe about 2 years. I had purchased extended warrenty, so it was still covered. It had gotten very slow. This was before adware and spyware was everywhere and I tried dumping programs I dont use to clear space, but nothing worked. The computer vas very, very slow. Much slower than it had been.

So I called Gateway. They kept trying to convince me not to bring it to one of there stores to drop off for repair. They even went so far as to warn me twice if I dropped it off and they looked at it and determined it was not a hardware problem, I would be charged in full for their time- at least $75. ( This while I WAS under warranty!). So screw that I am not going to be bullied I would never pay that rip-off fee and I won't be scared off cause they don't want to back their products. So I dropped it off and they looked at it. A few days later I came to pick it up and they told me it ran absolutely fine, there was nothing wrong with it. This is what they essentially were saying to me, the customer- :finger: .

I made no stink but I was pissed. I picked it up and walked out of there and knew I had to buy a new computer ( unless I enjoyed it taking 5 minutes to pull up a web page and another 5 for each click). I vowed to never buy from them again and I certainly never will. Bought a MicronPC( small company)- good computer liked it a ton but spyware-ad ware from Kazaa killed it. Switched to Dells now. Great company, great computers. Have never needed any service on them.

Gateway does not back their products would advise anyone to completely avoid them! I think the word has gotten out, they are in poor financial condition and are dying fast. Good! Gateway :finger: right back at you.

It is a sad day for the industry as a whole when a forum that is supposedly promoting ethical gaming offshore treats such an individual of such high integrity as the GENERAL with little respect and actually questions his motives.

Yes, very sad indeed.

I am one of those people who has had nothing but good experiences with Royal Sports so I have no bad things to say about them. These continuing problems with payouts are disturbing though. I have been stiffed twice am not looking to have it happen again, so no Royal for me right now. I respect the Shrinks opinion, he says keep away, I keep away. If they ran the place like TOW suggested earlier in this thread I would be happy to play there a lot.

I like Royal I really do.
