I was asked to present this story from ONE of the players who is owed money by Royal...

All I did was type what he said on the telephone...

My name is Dave W and I am a big player at Royal Sports. I am not a poster and I don't have access to the internet until Monday. I just got off the phone with The Shrink & The General, who suggested that I share what happened to me.

I sent Royal 20k three times via bank wire beginning 4 months ago and continued sending them money within 2 weeks apart to get to 60k total in my account.

Finally, with my last 20k, I began to win significantly. I got my account up to 200k. I requested a payout IN FULL. But, I was told I could only request 10k a day. So I requesting 10k at a time for a total of 5 pay outs equaling 50k five days in a row.

I was told I would get these pay outs 5-7 days each after the requests. Well, 3 weeks went by, and I got NOTHING!!!

I then got frustrated by the delays, continued gambling and lost 150k more by continuing to bet, leaving me balance at only 50k...

It is important to remember that when my balance had reached 0 on prior occasions, I kept getting calls from Richard to add money to my account. But this time, when I had only 50k left, Richard was usually "in meetings."

When we finally spoke, I told Richard that I wanted to see Royal finally make just ONE payment to me.

Richard kept delaying me as he had done before since I TOLD him I wasn't going to send them any more money.

He sat on all of the promises he ever made to me and never made good on ANY of them before.

Royal FINALLY sent me 10k for the past 3 weeks after I waited 6 weeks and proceeded to blow back almost my entire wad!!!!

I have collected only 30k made in 10 k increments weekly..

All I want is my balance owed to me, which is still 20k.

That's the story in a nutshell..

There are other things that Royal has done to me that are not above board and honest but I am afraid to say too much because all I want now is the money owed to me...

Can anyone advise me what to do?

Thanks,

Dave W

Let me go out on a limb here and guess that there will be no Royal banner at EOG?

This is what the player has stated since 6/11 when he 1st contacted me. I messaged Richard, Kevin, and Tim for help. None of them would answer me. Richard had stated that he would no longer post here because we had brought such circumstances to light, so I assumed they had cut ties with me. We had handled Many slow pays behind the scenes that never hit the forum in the past and I would have done the same here. ALL I want is to see this player get his monies promptly. So, last night I go over to MW and I ask Major if he approves of such situations and then I proceed to forward the players account number to Minnow so that Major can help. That is not good enough though and Major asks that I get him in contact with the player. I did so shortly ago calling Major with David on the phone. Major said I am busy, do not post on my forum again, and hung up. I have given his contact info to David and even if I can't help David, maybe Major will.

More evidence that this Richard Jones is not the nice guy he seems to be. Not only that, these people running things there are Royally stupid. If they had paid that guy is full balance, he would sent it all back and more.

All jokes aside...this is a really crappy situation for the player. He did the right thing in requesting his balance as he obviously has issues when it comes to discipline. He should have his entire balance in his hands at this point, but instead, he is begging for his deposit money back.

All these people saying Richard is a great guy have very poor judgement on character.

Nothing really unusual.

Royal has all the numbers to be a top ten book: Good lines, lots of content, good customer service.

Unfortunately they fail on the most sensitive issue in this industry: payouts.

This has nothing to do with lack of recources. Tej Kholi has MILLIONS. This has more to do with his frame of mind that perfectly fits the Casino business but not the sportsbook industry.

Tej business model is to squeeze all resources out of the cashflow.

In this case out of post up funds. In line with this philosophy post up becomes "his" when players send their money, not when his bookmaker effectively wins it.

He can hire Top Guns ala Simon Noble. They will be unable to make a difference unless he will finally understand that he has to allow his managers to have full control of the Company (and the money).

I am being told he wants to go public. This could be the best solution for Royal. Have him as silent investor.

He recently told a friend of mine he wants to make Royal the largest and best Book in the world. He has the resources to do it. All he needs to do is to alienate himself from the day to day business.

Unfortunately his natural greed and suspiciousness on everyone is the biggest barrier between a Royal ran ala ESB and a Royal ran ala Olympic.

Tej, I know you read this board.

Royal can turn in the best investment you've ever made. Set yourself aside and let your managers run the book the way a book should be run, not the way you'd run a pizza parlor in Calcutta.

You have some valuable people in your crew, Amit being your best asset. Give him full responsibility. Stop making him beg for money whenever the division needs something. Stop keeping people short because you feel that if you pay they will run away from you.

I know you enjoy feeling like "God"....but its useless and most important detrimental to the business.

Be important, for a change. Build good deed. Run the business the way a business shall be ran. Pay your vendors, your promotors, your employees.

I am sure that with people like Amit you can realize your dream of having a powerhouse.

Tej, you are the only obstacle that separates Royal from success. Set yourself aside. Royal will boost, your managers will be able to make the dream come true and you will be happy and rich.

Happy Tej, not scared like you are today. Free Tej, not in the need to walk around with 4 armed body guards. But, most important, respected.

You can do it.

PS Tej, show your will to be a serious player in the industry. Have the player paid his 20K Monday morning.

Rule #1. When your players win, pay them as quickly as possible and they will remain your players.

From what I can tell, this is the type of customer a book should treat like gold.

Roberto...was this just an example or is this fact? I thought Simon Noble was with the Grand Central Sports Group (Mybookie, Parlaybook, Betcom)?

This is a true story from Larry that owned DelMar. When he first started, he took a bet from a player for over a million dollars. The guy won the bet. He didn't have all the money to pay the guy off so he mortgaged all the property he had and sold almost everything to pay off the player.

A few months later the player lost it all back along with another 2.5 million.
From then Larry and Delmar never looked back and today is one of the top books in the offshore industry.

What if the same player won 2 million a few months later did Delmar have the money to pay off what must have been very big bets that caused the player to lose 2.5 million?
