If you like your "junk plan" you can keep your junk plan:

As early as this week, according to two sources, the White House will announce a new directive allowing insurers to continue offering health plans that do not meet ObamaCare’s minimum coverage requirements.

Prolonging the “keep your plan” fix will avoid another wave of health policy cancellations otherwise expected this fall.
The cancellations would have created a firestorm for Democratic candidates in the last, crucial weeks before Election Day.

The White House is intent on protecting its allies in the Senate, where Democrats face a battle to keep control of the chamber.
“I don’t see how they could have a bunch of these announcements going out in September,” one consultant in the health insurance industry said. “Not when they’re trying to defend the Senate and keep their losses at a minimum in the House. This is not something to have out there right before the election.”

Early indications are that the uninsured want nothing to do with ObamaCare.

When this PoS collapses, the Dems will go full bore for single payer.

Just wait and see.

Yeah I am starting to agree that this ACA is getting ridiculous. I think it's time to scrap this, start from scratch, everyone needs to come together and get this health care system done right but that will never happen

That was the plan all along. What a devious bunch the Left is with no concern for the country or it’s citizens.

Health insurers such as WellPoint Inc. (WLP) and Humana Inc. (HUM) stand to gain $5.5 billion next year to cover losses from Obamacare in a program the law’s opponents label a bailout.

The money, outlined in President Barack Obama’s proposed budget for the fiscal year that begins in October, is designated to help insurers who find the cost of the law higher than expected, based on the percentage of older, sicker people who sign up compared with younger enrollees.

Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, insurers who record a profit of 3 percent or more on their Obamacare business would put some of the gains into a government-controlled fund. Companies whose claims cost at least 3 percent more than their premium revenue can access the money.

It’s so great it’s mandatory!

It is official, if you like your "junk plan" you can keep it:

If people like their old health care plans, they can keep them for another two years, the administration said late Wednesday.

In a move that was pre-emptively attacked by House Republican leaders, the administration said plans that were grandfathered for one year after millions received cancellation notices in the individual market will now be able to continue, but will not be able to be renewed after Oct. 1, 2016. The announcement means an estimated 500,000 people in those plans won’t get cancellation notices right before the midterm elections, but does set up a situation where some could get cut off right before the next presidential election.

A local take…

By JENNIFER ROBISON
LVRJ

TheAffordable Care Act is like the weather: If you don’t like it, wait five minutes and it will change.

That is making life interesting for the Nevada Division of Insurance, which regulates insurance carriers and plans in the state. Agency Commissioner Scott Kipper was in Las Vegas on Wednesday to talk about how challenging implementing Obamacare has been in Nevada. But he also said the division is working hard to keep up as the law evolves.

“The only constant we have is that nothing’s constant,” Kipper said in a speech to about 200 members of the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce at the Four Seasons.

Take the employer mandate, which was scheduled to kick in on Jan. 1. Kipper said the division was one of the nation’s first state insurance commissions to publish an informational brochure for Nevada businesses on everything from an employer’s basic responsibilities under the law to repercussions if they didn’t provide coverage.

The brochure debuted on July 1, Kipper said, and “was state of the art for 24 hours,” until President Barack Obama’s July 2 decision to push the employer mandate to January 2015.

Even the individual mandate, still mostly in effect, has been tweaked. Obama said Tuesday that insurance divisions and carriers can let people keep existing plans through 2016, even if those policies don’t comply with Obamacare’s benefits requirements.

It was the second time since fall that Obama had urged states to grandfather noncompliant plans. Kipper’s division has looked at the issue, and decided it’s not possible to override new rules.

“It creates problems for our market. We’ve said that you can’t really do that (grandfather plans), according to state law,” Kipper said. “We’re again at a crossroads, or at loggerheads, with what’s going on nationally. We’ll evaluate our options, but we’ve reviewed this and decided it doesn’t work for us.”

That’s what happens when you have people with no business experience trying to run 1/6 of America’s economy.

When Obama was pitching Obamacare, he realized people would be concerned about losing their current insurance and paying higher prices.

If the American public believed this, Obamacare would be dead on arrival. So, he repeatedly insisted that this would NOT be the case. Here are some quotes from President Obama:

If you’re one of the more than 250 million Americans who already have health insurance, you will keep your health insurance. This law will only make it more secure and more affordable.

If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. If you like your current health insurance plan you can keep it.

If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what.

Now, anyone who did even a cursory reading of the Affordable Care Act knew the President was lying.

The bill mandated that all policies increase their coverage and the federal government would establish what a minimum health insurance would have to include. Existing plans that did not meet the minimums would be illegal.

This is tantamount to mandating that every hamburger in the country be sold with cheese, fries, and a drink and then insisting that the price of hamburgers wouldn’t go up.

If you just want a plain burger and nothing else, tough luck. You have no choice. Of course, prices would go up. To argue otherwise is illogical at best and dishonest at worse.

If car insurance worked like Obamacare, you could drive without insurance and wait until you had an accident. Since companies couldn’t deny you for “pre-existing” damage, you would make out like a bandit.

You could save months or even years of paying premiums and then hit the jackpot when you needed coverage.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that car insurance rates would skyrocket very quickly. The same will happen to health insurance.

Of course, it doesn’t matter how much reason you shove into the face of Obamacare supporters. They just don’t care.

The primary goal of Obamacare was never to insure the uninsured. If that was the reason, they would have simply created a government program to take care of the uninsured.

There was no need to completely overhaul the entire system and affect every person in the country. But a simple fix to the problem would not have led to a single-payer AKA monopoly-payer system.

It’s somewhat ironic that the supporters of the Soviet-style statist takeover of the US healthcare system are overwhelming pro-choice on abortion but not pro-choice on whether a person has to join the Obamcare. If Obamacare is so good, why isn’t it voluntary? What about a man’s right to control his body?

Government apologists have already started coming out of the woodwork. Millions of people are getting cancellation notices and sticker shock with the new government compliant Obamacare policies. Heres’ the #1 complaint:

I was happy with my policy. Obamacare killed it and now the replacement is more expensive.

Government tool response:

Sorry to hear that but you’re getting a much better policy! You should be happy!

Logical response:

Look, socialist. Err, sorry. I meant “progressive.” If I wanted a policy with more coverage or benefits, I would have gotten it. I like the policy I bought. That’s why I bought it and renewed it.

The government essentially made affordable catastrophic policies illegal. To put it in simple terms, it’s like the government outlawing all Honda Civics and then telling you the Accords are better. Sure, an Accord is more luxurious than a Civic but there’s a reason people buy Civics. They’re more affordable and suit their needs!

But it’s worse than that! You don’t have to buy an Accord but you have to buy health insurance whether you want to or not.

if Obamacare improves the quality of healthcare services
if it covers all Americans that previously weren't covered
if it reduces healthcare costs for us all
if it reduces the deficit

then why should it be delayed anymore? they had 4 years to implement it, "bring it on"

we could all use all that good shit don'tchaknow

maybe Nancy's still reading it, I guess that's plausible

Though Dr. Ben Carson recently retired after a 36-year career practicing medicine at prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital, he is far from finished advocating for health and healing.

Regarding his continued work in healthcare, Dr. Carson stated, "I now find myself deeply immersed in trying to heal the health care environment, because if you cure the organism and put it back into a sick environment, you really have not accomplished very much."

As Breitbart News reported on February 24th, Carson traveled to Sikeston, MO on February 22nd to deliver a speech to a packed house, a topic of which was the importance of quality healthcare policies not rooted in politics but in people. On Wednesday, the doctor went into more detail about healthcare and why he’s committed to “replacing Obamacare with patient-centered reforms that will allow every American access to the best, most affordable care in the world.”

Dr. Carson shared the story of a young man named T.J. on whom he performed several brain surgeries after T.J. was diagnosed with a brain tumor at only nine months of age. Though he was never expected to live to see two years of age, T.J. survived--and during Dr. Carson’s time in Missouri a couple weeks ago, he was reunited with the 21-year old young man. Stories like this, he said, explain why he is chairman of the Save Our Healthcare Project. Because the healthcare battle is “bigger than any one person,” it is vital “to lead a national citizens' effort to hold Washington accountable [and] re-center the health care debate around doctors and patients.”

He is not so naïve as to think everyone will believe in his good intentions. On the contrary, he acknowledged that some will see his efforts to replace Obamacare as just another opportunity to criticize President Obama. But this isn’t about President Obama. In fact, he declared, it is bigger than Obama and Obamacare. "This is about much more than Obamacare. It's about helping to ensure that Americans of every background have the opportunity to live longer, happier and more independent lives with more freedom and more choice," Carson said.

So why is finding real solutions to the real problems of health and wholeness necessary? Why is “uprooting” the disaster that is Obamacare a priority? Simply put, we must learn from history and not put our faith in “centralized bureaucracy,” he asserted. We must put our faith in “free individuals” instead. He continued:

Every step in the direction of centralization is a step away from personalization. I steadfastly believe that no centralized bureaucracy and no politician--Republican or Democrat--should ever get in the way of decisions best made by patients, families and doctors.

Furthermore, he said, we are a nation of individuals with individual needs, which is why Obamacare has bigger problems than a website that won’t work. “Top-down cookie-cutter solutions simply will not work,” he said. “Ultimately, they increase costs and decrease freedom of choice.”

Dr. Carson has given himself to Save Our Healthcare Project because he recognizes that identifying problems isn’t enough. Health care requires solutions.

“This is a massive undertaking, and it will be tough,” Carson confessed. “But when I look into the eyes of someone such as T.J. in Missouri, I know there are much tougher things to confront in this world.”

Nothing brings clarity like seeing a former patient again--one who was not supposed to live to see two, much less twenty-one. And nothing turns up the fire in the belly to do what’s right for the well-being of people like the hope of hearing more of these success stories.

Did you hear what Michelle Obama said this morning on Good Morning America?? I guess Im not that "everage" American... my policy now costs 4x what she said. Mind you that I was paying more then $100 a month for what I had, but with the ACA its gotten way to expensive now.

"Because of the Affordable Care Act, people now have an option, affordability," Obama said. "The accessibility of it will allow the average American to get an insurance plan for less than $100 a month. That's the cost of a cellphone bill, a decent pair of sneakers."

Can someone point me that way to the LESS THEN $100 a month plans for AVERAGE AMERICANS? Unless her view as "AVERAGE" is those so poor they need as many government subsidies as they can get to help pay for it.

It gets even funnier in that article: "The Obamas have made a point to keep their daughters' lives as normal as possible while living in the White House. The first lady says her daughters’ ability to do so well is, at least in part, a testament to the power of prayer."

Keep their lives as normal as possible?

So "Normal" to the Obamas is:

Trips around the world
Vacations monthly
Hanging out with celebrities at the weekly White House parties
Private School tuition at $35k per child (more then what the "average" American makes to live on)
5 star dinners nightly

Seems pretty normal to me....
