Kurt Warner leading the way this year with young Eli Manning the heir apparent....this team is a huge mystery , possibly no QB if Warner isn't right still!

IMO, they could be anywhere from a 9-7 (on the highly optomistic side) team to a horrible team...

Thoughts on the G-Men?

JMan-

This team could struggle this season.

- On offense, the line is still shaky and the QB situation is questionable.

- At RB, Ron Dayne is down to 235lbs, back in the mix, and getting a lot of press. Tiki is the presumed starter but Coughlin wants a different type of back which is why we entered into discussions with Stacy Mack. If Tiki has cured his fumble problems I actually wouldn't mind seeing Dayne spell him.

- Shockey is said to be healthy but my guess is he's still a bit injured and is starting to remind me of my favorite Giant..Mark Bavaro. Turf toe ended his career a little early and Shockey's foot is a problem. Although, he did look fine when I saw him at the Borgata a few weeks ago.

- The defense has a new LB corps and our best player is getting old.

The funny thing about all this is that the team's players have talent but it's a question of whether or not they can put it together.

My guess is that they will win at least 4 games but I wouldn't be surprised if they won 10.

I predict a 6-10 or 7-9 season with Mrs. Swami being cursed at least once before the end of the first half of the first game. Giants vs. Eagles....not exactly how I wanted to start my season. Good thing for her I'm not a wife beater......yet.

Swami- they still have alot of name brand players, but at the same time some huge holes...I think they may be the least predictable team coming in to '04

And can you imagine Coughlin once Tiki starts coughing (no pun intended) the ball up?

I have a feeling Tiki is sleeping with the ball.

Look for the Giants to surprise more than a few! They will be solid come game time! Coughlin will have this team ready guaranteed! Don't like the idea of Warner in cold weather but by the time it gets cold Manning will be at the helm! With his pedigree he has he will be a star right off the bat! Defensively they will be fine! Offensive line is a little skeptic but they will fill the gaps and be a 9-7 team this year!

Let's see, same loser patchwork line. To say Warner is even close to what Collins was here is innaccurate at best. He looks done to me, in many ways. Young hopeful Eli better be ready to drop the clipboard. And scramble behind that line. Tiki career fumbler. Dayne has career of 2 yard gains, and no cuts. All new offensive gameplan which will feature 3 step drops, to keep QB from getting killed. Warner will hold ball forever. Shockey hurt still, could be reoccuring. Defense could be another learning curve as they are dropping preferred 4-3, which vets have played for entire careers, to 3-4. That is a drastic change, especially for front seven. All gaps and blocking assignments change. No significant improvement in offseason, a ton of changes, everywhere. This team wins 5 or less. Too many new philosophies and unproven and hasbeen QB spell doom, especially behind first time O line. Best Wishes...OF

KC will expose them fast.

What about that guy on "The Bachelor?" Collins? He was bragging that he plays QB for the Giants. Can he make a difference? He's kinda cute though.

Wrong. They are not entirely dropping the 4-3, they are still using it as their base defense, but will use the 3-4 in certain situations.

JMan-

The Giants are not predictable at all. They shouldn't have sucked as badly as they did last year and as mentioned, I think the team has a bunch of talent looking for direction.

Re: Tiki, he changed his grip. He's carrying the ball with two hands now so I don't know how that will affect his effectiveness since it is new for him. By giving Dayne a shot and looking at Mack, Coughlin is signaling that Tiki is not safe. Unfortunately, the Giants need Tiki more than he needs the team. He and his wife are very much into the NY social scene and he had a ton going on off the field.

I like JimFeistSux's view of the team but I just don't see 9 wins on the schedule at this point. To get to 9 they would likely have to sweep Dallas or Washington and/or split with Philly and I don't see it happening especially since this team ALWAYS loses at least one game a year to a inferior team. I look for them to drop a game to either Chi, Cle, Pitt, or AZ and 3 of those four are at the Meadowlands.

The best things going for this team are Coughlin, Parcells, and Gibbs. The Vets know that they need to focus on EVERY game since Parcells and Gibbs mean that Dallas and Washington are no longer cake walks.

Eff you Jman...I'm already getting sick about what this team is about to put me through.

General....If Eli comes in he will get crushed...I expect Eli to come in because Warner is going to spend a lot of time on the turf looking at sky or cleaning the divot out of his facemask....

The team needs to look into finding someone with long arms that won't have to bend over so far to help these QB's up off the field...a few extra QB jerseys also cuz these guys are gonna get raped.....Warner's best years are behind him and it won't help him being in a mash unit like the Giants...Find someone who can jump on the loose balls in the backfield cuz Warner's going to fumble a lot....Eli is too young and has little experience....

Will the Giants suck? That's like asking if the sun is hot or if water is wet.
