Here's the gist, for the rest of the story click the link above...

Intel agents Tony Shaffer and Scott Philpott have confirmed Rep. Weldon's claims that a chart with Atta's face, soon the photos of 3 other members of the 9-11 terror team, were known to DIA team Able Danger by early 2000.

This diary will show that Pete Schoomaker and Philip Zelikow are two of the main Perpetraitors in this scandal, that they deliberately withheld information from the President of the United States that would have prevented 9/11, that they and their neo-con rulers Let It Happen On Purpose.

Of this there can no longer be any doubt.
..
The heroic intel agents of Able Danger repeatedly tried to get the FBI to roll up the cell but were stopped by the secret neo-con cell within the Clinton Administration, especially General Pete Schoomaker, in command of Able Danger--and who was later asked by Rumsfeld to come out of retirement and replace Shinseki in 2003 as Army Chief of Staff!
..
Schoomaker repeatedly told Philpott and Shaffer that they could not inform the FBI as DoD lawyers had opined that Atta's Green Card made him a "US Person", that the so-called "Gorelick Wall" prevented talking to the FBI--even though Atta was part of al-Queda. Shaffer and Philpott were actually ordered to put yellow sticky pads over the faces of the 4 terrorists on their Analyst Notebook chart and act as thought they don't exist.
..
So Schoomaker and the Pentagon lawyers blocked the Atta Chart and request for arrest of the "Brooklyn Cell" from going to the FBI, Clarke and Clinton--who would have acted on it--and 9-11 would likely have never happened, with 3 of the 4 pilots and the leader of the gang arrested.

But then the neo-cons stole the election and came into power proper with Bush, Rice and Cheney. Rice, in charge of the transition, demoted Richard Clarke on Jan. 5, 2001, with the assistance of Philip Zelikow, who later became Executive Director of the 9-11 Commission! Like Schoomaker, Zelikow has now been rewarded with a plum job, directly under Rice at State.
..
Philip Zelikow committed treason, when as Executive Director, he was directly told about Able Danger, then he and his direct staff covered up the information from the rest of the 9-11 Commission as they have said they were never told about it. When the Able Danger agents called up the Commission 10 days before the publication of the Report, they were blown off for the umpteenth time.

China / Russia ... strong 1-2 Punch

BEIJING (Reuters) - China praised its first joint military exercises with Russia on Friday for lifting relations to an all-time high and opening room for further cooperation.

Eight days of drills involving more than 10,000 troops from the former Cold War foes' armies, navies and air forces concluded on Thursday with a practice air and ground assault in China's eastern Shandong province.

The last event on the schedule was an outside "family-style lunch" of noodles, braised eggplant and fried fish washed down with beer as tank engines roared in the background, Xinhua news agency said.

"Through the exercises, the two armed forces... improved their capabilities to meet new challenges and threats and to fight international terrorism, extremism and separatism," Xinhua quoted Chinese Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan as saying.

"China and Russia have reached an unprecedented height in their strategic partnership," it said in a commentary.

The same day the drills ended, the prime minister of the Ingushetia republic in southern Russia was injured in an assassination attempt. A bodyguard was killed in the bombing near the border with Chechnya, where separatists have fought Russian rule for a decade.

Ties between Beijing and Moscow have grown closer in recent years around points of common ground that include concern about instability in Central Asia. Both countries want to keep political turmoil in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan from spilling over their borders and to check the U.S. presence in the region.

The two countries, which share a 4,300-km (2,700-mile) frontier, are also players in six-party talks on North Korea's nuclear crisis, reflecting shared security interests.

China has been looking to Russia for energy resources to feed its booming economy, while Moscow is keen to boost sales to Beijing of military hardware like the advanced bombers and fighter jets showcased during the war games.

The state-run People's Daily said on Friday the two countries would increase military trade from the current volume of $60 billion to $80 billion by 2010.

China would also pour $12 billion of investment into Russia's energy sector and infrastructure construction before the newspaper, a mouthpiece for the ruling Communist Party, said.

"The war games also made clear that China is willing to cooperate with other countries militarily and is serious about learning from its peers as it modernizes its armed forces," Xinhua said.

"More moves to deepen China's military communication with other countries can be expected."

The exercises kicked off on August 18 with consultations and battle planning on Russia's Pacific coast near Vladivostok and moved to China's Shandong peninsula for live-fire drills including a joint offshore blockade and amphibious landing.

Xinhua quoted Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov as saying Russia and China may hold more joint military exercises in the future.

Those guys weren't even allies when they were both hard core communist regimes and supporting Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam against the yanks.

I don't think there's anyone that trusts the Chinese.
The Vietnamese definitely dont, and never did.

China is an 800lb gorilla who lives next door.
You might chat across the fence, but you never invite him in and you always have a locked and loaded weapon in your house.

The Failings of the 9/11 Commission

Confirmed: Able Danger ID of Atta before Bushco Shut it Down

Rice aide hid disbandment of Atta's trackers from 9/11 report

Must Read! The Neo-Con Able Danger Scandal -- Atta Coverup! UPDATE 5

Shaffer lawyer: Army ordered documents destroyed in '03 For the Truly Lazy, here is a quick summary:

 1.
DIA team Able Danger Id'd Atta and 3 other 9-11 terrorists by early 2000. Confirmed by AD team members Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer and Captain Scott Philpott.
SOCOM (Schoomaker or another 2 or 3-star general) did not allow AD team to tell FBI their recommendation to arrest Atta and used phony excuse of the Gorelick Wall to stop them. This prevented FBI, Clarke and Clinton from finding out that al-Queda had sent 4 terrorists into the US--even after the Millennium Bomber caught in '99!
Able Danger was disbanded in Feb. 2001 when the Neo-Cons took power. Don't know who gave order but it must have been Rice or Cheney. We know Clarke demoted by Zelikow on Rice's order at that same time, along with most if not all counter-terror programs and recommendations started by Clinton and Gore.
Philip Zelikow appointed by Bush to head 9-11 Commission. After meeting with Shaffer and AD team, Zelikow and his top staff DELIBERATELY covers up early Atta ID and never tells other Commissioners about it.
Army destroyed all AD documents and charts proving early ID of Atta.
Zelikow, promoted for his coverup work to Senior Counsel to Rice at State, continues coverup today, as do the rest of the Neo-Cons and the Republicans on the 9-11 Commission.
 2. RW hate radio hosts and bloggers suddenly back off Able Danger story when they sense it could have incredible blowback on them. They begin to intimate Shaffer is a liar when the day before he was their way to blame 9-11 on the Clenis.

Curt Weldon: 9/11 Panel Will Be Discredited

Rep. Curt Weldon predicted yesterday that members of the 9/11 Commission would have "egg all over their face" when the truth comes out about briefings they received on an elite group of military intelligence analysts code named Able Danger.

"The 9/11 Commission is trying to spin this because they're embarrassed at what's coming out," Weldon told the Fox News Channel's "Fox & Friends" morning show.

In comments rebroadcast nationally by Rush Limbaugh, Weldon sounded livid over the attempted cover-up:

"In two weeks with two staffers, I've uncovered more in this regard than they did with 80 staffers and $15 million of taxpayers' money!"

The Pennsylvania Republican said the truth would come out in hearings planned for this fall:

"This information will ultimately end up in a hearing. Senator Specter is preparing a hearing in the judiciary committee. I talked to Speaker Hastert yesterday on the House side. We will bring people in under oath, and they will swear and they will answer the questions."

Weldon also blasted Pentagon spokesman Lawrence Di Rita for repeatedly claiming he can't find any evidence to back up claims from Able Danger team members that they had identified lead 9/11 hijacker Mohamed Atta two years before the attacks.

Weldon said he told Di Rita: "Larry, don't ever go on national TV again and say what you said, when I know that [Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence] Steve Cambone is right now going through four boxes of materials."

"There's something very sinister that's going on here that really troubles me," Weldon complained.

Limbaugh told his audience that Weldon was even more angry in an interview for next month's issue of the Limbaugh Letter, saying, "Multiply that by two and you'll get an idea how he sounded during his conversation with me."

There are briefings and memos and reports and suchlike stuff produced by the zillion in governments all around the globe.

Its a bit like google, you get 3 million pages of it when you look at a certain subject.
Then just like with google you've got to try and sort the crap from the decent stuff and by page 200 you can get a bit weary of it.

Most of it gets ignored and who can blame them.

Out of 200 tout reports you've got to figure out which tout is gonna hit the jackpot.
