Tulsa
Nobody has gotten within 30 points of this team despite Tulsa opening up the season with two games on the road. Yet the most points that they've been favored by in any game is 21. I'm still not sure the lines have caught up with this team. But I can tell you that two years ago this same Tulsa team was also very undervalued and I cleaned up the first half of the season on them. All of the media had made ECU their BCS darlings from the CUSA before their loss last week to NCST. But I think it's this Tulsa team that has a better chance of going undefeated this season. Their toughest game will be on the road against Arkansas. But we've seen how good Arkansas is so far. This team has a real shot in my opinion. And I don't really hear anybody talking about them except local media outlets. I think Tulsa could be the real deal. Todd Graham is a hell of a coach. And despite the loss of a couple star players, he just plugs more good players into his system and makes it work.
Two other teams that could be a little undervalued or underrated is Alabama and Vandy. I admit that Vandy got lucky last week against Ole Miss with turnovers. But Vandy is an opportunistic team that has one goal in mind. Getting to a bowl game for the first time in 26 years. Something tells me they're going to make it this season. They've got some very winnable games left with Miss St., Duke and Kentucky. And it wouldn't surprise me at all if they beat Tennessee at home this year. I love this team as an underdog play because they are a good running team. And their on a roll. I could be dead wrong about this, but Bama could be really really good. They are big and physical on defense. And I like them for the same reasons I liked Cincy last season. They take advantage of every mistake an offense makes. This could go a long ways in the SEC this season. Plus I still think the SEC West Division is wide open despite LSU beating Auburn. This upcoming game with Georgia won't have the importance as their game with LSU. That's the one that could be for all of the marbles in their division. If Bama can somehow make it to the SEC title game with just one loss, they could find themselves playing for the national champiosnhip. If you guys can find any other teams that you feel still have some value feel free to chime in. I would like to hear them.
