With all due respect to the late President Eisenhower and the Augusta National Members, when I have visted the Augusta National Grounds in years past, there have been many more rememberable landmarks such as Butler Cabin, Magnolia Lane, Amen Corner and Rae's Creek to marvel upon that make the day much more picturesque. True the Eisenhower Tree's importance came in the individual's strategy in how to navigate around it's looming presence, but to the average patron did it really add to the glamour or beautification of the grounds? Sad indeed that the Eisenhower Tree had to be destroyed and that added element of strategy will be missed in future Masters Tournaments but the splendor, luster, and magnificence of the grounds were never dependent on a lone single feature.
