the last time for the season.....
SUPERBOWL 43
ARIZONA vs PITTSBURGH(7) 46.5...
information, stats and personal systems for superbowl selection.
for edges on totals...the 30pt breakdown
all sb teams scoring 30pts or more are 18-1-2 ats
all sb favs scoring 30pts or more are 14-1-2 ats
all sb favs scoring less than 30pts are 6-17-1 ats (2-11-1 ats in last 14)
when either of the sb teams score 30pts or more the game has averaged 55pts a game with an ave margin of victory of 19pts
in the last 7 superbowls the team with the better regular season record has went 1-6 ats s 02
in superbowl history, favorites of 7pts have went 1-6 ats
in last 8 superbowls the team who has won thier conference championship game by a smaller margin of victory has won the superbowl straight up 7 times
my personal selection systems...
#1 DEF-CON SYSTEM (defensive consistency)
this has produced a 70% winning percentage since 1982
18-7-2 ats in last 27 bowls
11-5-2 ats in last 18 bowls
8-3-2 ats in last 13 bowls
#1 take the team who has held thier opponents to less than 10pts the most times during the regular season, if the # is equal take the points.
#2 SHUTDOWN SYSTEM
this system has also produced a 70% winning percentage since 1984
25-14-3 ats in all superbowls
16-7-2 ats in last 25 bowls
12-5-2 ats in last 19 bowls
#2 take the team who has held thier opponents to 3pts or less the most times during the regular season, if this # is equal add the playoff games outcomes, if the # is still equal take the points.
when both of these systems have lined up for the same side it has produced a win percentage of over 97% the last 13 years.
now the failsafe...
i rarely bet on the superbowl unless both of these systems line up for one team and it is'nt the team i "want"; to win.
this usually produces the closest thing to a garanteed ats winner as there could be....and i "want" to see the cardinals win.
only 1 time were the systems lined up on one side and it was the team i "wanted" to win, and it did. that was the ravens in 01.
that's it boys, i'll be online tomorrow for awhile but alas, it's time to disapear into hibernation for another summer.
gl and lots of $$ to everybody on the game.
GAME.
