How come Ballard wasn't given credit for the touchdown with the leaping catch???? He crossed the goalline in the air, but was given a spot at the 1......then the terrible call by Miss St on their last two plays....3k swing for me right there ^<<^^<<^^<<^

exactly, im pissed off right now. I had over 2h and if they woulda scored that Td then it woulda went over.. wow. 10 seconds left, enough to throw one play and if that doesnt get in then run the option on the last play... dont know what they were thinking

if relf woulda pitched it, they would have walked it in. very disappointing call................whats worse is the amount of time they lost 2 or 3 plays before that.....wasted 20 seconds running a play.

Auburn paid the refs. You could tell at the end of the game when the ref turned his back it was intentional.

im not sure if they have the rule still, i think now the ball must break the goalline or hit the cone inside the field of play... it use to be the goal line was extending! the nfl changed it a few years ago on the mike vick play... think the ball must break the plain inside the field of play or hit the cone! still thought a review should have be done!!

IIRC, the first down line is extended. I believe the goaline is as well.

Exactly... at least give Relf a run/pass option for 2nd down. Then with 2-3 seconds to go, then you can run the option play. Just a pathetic play call with 13 seconds to go and no time outs.

He was out of bounds prior to the goal line, but it should've been spotted at about the 1/2 yard line. Also, I think you have to pass on 2nd down with no timeouts. If you're going to run, you must try to stretch the ball across the goal if you're getting tackled.

i'm pretty sure mullen wanted relf to pitch the ball on that option so ballard could get out of bounds, unless relf was sure he was going to score he has to pitch it there....miss st is a team without one big playmaker. ballard is good but more power guy than big play guy. anyways, mullen got schooled by chizik all game long

i thought the leaping play was a TD, unless the broadcaster was wrong about the extended goalline still being the rule. He jumped while still in bounds and the ball broke the line while he was in the air

Relf did not run the play that was called and decided to try to win the game on his own or is it possible to call a running play with 10 seconds left, no timeouts and from what I could tell, there were no options for Relf to pitchout or to pass. My thoughts with 10 seconds left were, they will try a roll out pass play and if they are covered, throw it away.

Completely disagree. If you extended the pylon vertically, the ball never crossed the goal line while the ball was still in bounds (and I had MIssSt).

if the goal line is extended rule is in effect the ball broke the line, it doesnt matter where the pylon is or where the ball crosses the line, im not sure if college still has this rule or not

the play was an option, ballard was the pitchman. did you watch the game? an option is a safe play if you have a qb that is smart enough to use the sidelines in that situation. ask air force or georgia tech is they can run a 2 min drill with an option attack using the sidelines
