Disagree 1000% They are set at RB. They needed to draft defense. Their defense is HORRIBLE.
No arguments about their D (front 7 specifically) but the backfield was far from 'set'.
All I'm saying is that I agree with the new FO's decision to go with their BPA instead of drafting solely on need like Shanny would've done.
Jackson and Raji were clearly their top 2 choices on D. Once they are gone, why not take BPA when you know that any other D player you would take at 12 will still be there at 18? Especially when you are limited to defensive prospects that fit into a 3-4 D like Denver is switching to.
Once Oakland took DHB, I was really hoping that GB would jump all over Crabtree and Raji would fall to Denver but since that didn't happen, they made the best of 'plan B' IMO.
For all of the yards that Denver put up last year they were only 16th in scoring so it's not like defense was their ONLY problem. Grabbing the best RB in the draft will also help ease the transition to Orton or Simms also. Also, a BIG part of their defensive deficiency last year was ball control. An impact RB helps that cause also.
Pretty sure they will draft nothing but D with their 2nd and two 3rd's.
