As president, George Bush did the best he could to make the US a better and safer nation. Whether you agreed with his policies or actions, this was his goal.

To the nations of the world who were poor or in suffering the US provided aid. The United States is a benevolent nation. Bush tried to free nations under oppression from tyranny. He believed free people were less lkely to attack us.

As the current president, Barack Obama is doing his best to make the US a better and safer nation. Whether you agree with his policies or actions, this is his goal. The methods may be different but the objectives are the same. If that statement confuses you watch Jay Leno's interview with Condi Rice in the other thread.

To the nations of the world who are poor or in suffering the US is still providing aid. That's what we were doing for starving people in Kenya when our ship was attacked by evil filth. The United States is a benevolent nation.

Thank you for reading. You can all go back to your respective extreme right-wing views and extreme left-wing views and resume fire.

By using this kinda logic, we can never criticize any head of state.

Hitler also believed that he was doing what was best for his country
(so is Iran and NK)

The United States is a benevolent nation. What a joke. Either you don't know what the word means or you about as ignorant as most Americans that think the united states are doing good in the world. DO you have any idea how most of the world perceives the u.s.a? Bush did more harm than good.

Exactly. It's all self righteous and self centered BS.

Oh by the way, you can criticize any head of state by opening any thread on this forum and clicking the 'Reply' button. It never ends.....

I thought the president's primary responsibility was to protect and maximize profits for big business?

If it wasn't for the U.S...you wouldn't have time to sit on your puter in Winnipeg and talk stoopid here.

You would most likely be dead and buried in a Russian slave state.

Thank your lucky stars you live next to the most benevolent nation in history, that does your security dirty work for you ...so you can have so much time to be ungrateful.

I won't mention the other words that describe you.

STFU...:ohno:

You can be sure that at any given moment, literally 99.9% of people outside of America don't give any thought whatsoever to the USA. So spare me the rap about how bad we're perceived. With the exception of a tiny minority of people, no one even thinks about us at all. They're way too busy living their own lives.

I know that. People are busy just making a living and getting through the day. That doesn't mean they don't have the attitude towards america like I described in my post earlier. They may be too busy to care or think about it, but if they were stopped and asked, they think negatively about the usa. That's a fact and it's not just a small minority.

You missed my point. That is, if "they" were stopped and asked they would by and large shrug and say, I don't have any opinion on America because it doesn't have anything to do with my life.

The crowd of Americans who actually perceive lots of people in other countries hate us remind me of the crowd of fundamentalist Christians who insist that the rest of America is out to "silence them" during the Christmas season.

A poll conducted in 2004 in the UK stated a majority of those polled wanted the US weakened, in the same poll a majority wanted John Kerry elected. I would imagine the same holds true now. And the world loves Barack Obama. I'm sure the people in Winnipeg would love to see the USA weak. Somebody has to be the lead dawg, and I prefer it to be the country I live in. Don't like it? Tough shit, move here or get over it.

America is already weakening. Also, I can't speak for all Winnipeggers, but I don't want america to be weak. I will repeat one of my previous posts, I don't wish harm to any country in the world whether it's america, japan, iraq or whatever. I'm just saying what goes around comes around.

That's what happened on 9/11. Payback. Simple as that. Having the attitude that, this is us, take it or leave it, we won't change is part of the reason 9/11 occured and will continue to occur until your country crumbles.

Don't be naive. america isn't invincible, not by a long shot and making so many enemies, killing so many civillians, invading other countries(still find it hilarious that since they couldn't catch Osama, they distract the people by attacking Iraq) etc only hurt america and will continue to hurt america. Those american soldiers out there, tons of them, dying because their superiors are hungry for oil, want to distract people about Osama and God knows what other agendas they have. It's a shame.

Look, I sincerely wish my neighbors the best. I really do. I just think they really messed up with attacking Iraq and not being able to capture Osama after all this time. When you mess up, you have to take the heat and finger pointing.

The difference between George Dubya and Barack Obama?

Ol Georgie rode his father's coatails and sucked on his silver spoon, while Barack worked hard at everything he accomplished.

Obama believes in government of the people, by the people, for the people.

Bush (all of them) believes in government of big business, by big business, for big business.

Are you sure it’s not….
Obama believes in government of the government, by the government, for the government.
Like the government getting into banking, auto making and the insurance business. :think2:
