I fell asleep before it was called. Woke up this morning and the morning paper headline read:

U.S. to Trump. You're hired.

To show you how out of touch I am with everyone here in Nevada, every candidate
on the down ballot I voted for lost.

And the two state wide questions on the ballot, I voted no and of course both passed.

Oh well the sun came up and the Casino's were open so it wasn't a total loss.

All I can say is for the first time in the last 8 years I'm proud of my country. :103631605

Trump should abuse his executive privilege and levy a 50% tax on the Vegas casinos. Bring the crooked liberal state to a halt and then cut all taxes to the Atlantic city casino.

Pick winners and losers...you know, like Obama did.

Without Vegas Nevada would be a dust bowl. As for the Casinos they're the
reason Nevada has no State tax. Property taxes are also ridiculously low
compared to other places I've lived. It also helps we have a Republican governor.

Same here Dave. Most elections, there are no more than a couple of things that pass that I voted for. I pretty much expect it in my neck of the woods. I would not have expected it where you are though.

Anyway back to the riots now. The Bay Area is really something when the person they wanted doesn't win. All the kiddies took the day off of school today to protest and they're bringing in dogs and playdoh to the schools to help them deal with their traumatic event. Years ago when I had little interest in politics, I used to feel bad for the people here as they painted themselves as victims. But then when the person they wanted got in charge, they simply acted like assholes with no desire at all to work together with anyone or even consider an opposing viewpoint. One of the ladies in my workplace had told me how disgusted she was both candidates and couldn't wait until the election was over. And yet she would occasionally make subtle comments about how she thought the market would crash and the economy was going to go to hell if Trump won (this is someone that cheered when the Dow increased on a daily basis...she's somewhat near retirement). The day after the election she claims she's in mourning. I said I thought it didn't matter to you. And then she started backpedaling. Then I told her the market seems to like it and is up 250. She pretended to smile but it's apparent she is actually cheering for the market to crash now. Amazing how people will literally cheer for the downfall of the country, the economy, and the stock market (despite the fact that it will have terrible ramifications on their life) just so they can say the person in the oval office sucks. Yep, the ole cut off your nose to spite your face mentality. Priceless!

P.S. Of course you'll get people trying to claim that's been the Republicans for the last 8 years. I disagree. I never wanted to market to fail or the country to fall apart. It was happening despite my best interests.

those casino labor unions are hard to overcome in a scarcely populated state

you probably have the highest ratio of union jobs in the country

it's a rigged system :)

just looked it up, I'm mistaken

all the liberal states have more union jobs (probably state employees)

http://www.bls.gov/news.release/union2.nr0.htm

Alaska is the one exception, otherwise the highest % of union jobs

CA, CT, HI, IL, MN, NV, NY, OR, WA, RI & NJ

the who's who of the democratic party

surprised MA and MD are not in that list
