nice clip, thanks for posting. As much as people like to talk like they know what's going on in the current crisis, i don't think more than half even have a clue or really get the gist of it all to explain in simple terms. Videos like these definitely help.

It requires a lot less thinking to blame it on the Community Re-Investment Act.

Great video thanks for posting.

So, Alan Greenspan and irresponsible loaning largely to blame?!

Oh yes, and greedy investors

Or Phil Gramm. The Ex Texas Aggie economics professor that has done wonders to revive the Aggie joke.

gee, I thought it was all Bush's fault. Try to get it right when when you want to laugh at people.

A friend forwarded it to me last night...I wish CNN and the rest of the News Networks could explain it in such simple terms.

2 minutes in and so far so good.

A couple of points:

1) The "investors" don't go to the Federal Reserve for the U.S. Treasuries, they go to the U.S. Treasury which holds auctions.

2) The investors, represented by Pension Funds, etc., ultimately represents the workers who invest in the pensions and demand a higher return for the money they contribute.

Continue....

I like how the "less responsible" home buyers are smoking and have many kids. Funny...go on...

The visual also shows 9 out of 11 houses being foreclosed on, when actually it is 8 of every 100....but continue....

Overall, it is pretty much right on point and breaks it down near perfectly.

Great post.

yea, no kidding. They have all their supposed "financial experts" every night now discussing our country's crisis and they don't get anywhere other than repeating their mumbo jumbo which makes it obvious they don't have a f'in clue themselves. They need to save their worthless hourly discussions, take 5 min and show this clip to their viewers. It's very condensed, yes, but at least they'll have a good starting point for further discussions. But we all know there's no way in hell that'll ever happen.

It's an ok vid, but it does gloss over several key points. Not bad, but not great either. A good starting point.
