Broken, Bob Stoops strenght is Def. He is a Defense mind who got to be a HC of Oklahoma. I am sure he is the mastermind behind the schemes of the Def for Oklahoma, which his brother ran and executed. That is what a Coordinator does. We shouldnt forget how many coaches get their starts as head coaches. They come from someone elses successful system or team, but are also credited for that success. They dont just become a head coach. You are part of a system and execute that system with the players you have. When you succeed at doing that you will be recognized for that success. But remember, only those who has been head coaches , or have been hired from another team, to run a defense or offense for that matter are those that can lay claim to the Def or Off being what it is. I am sure Bob Stoops has his hands exactly on his strenght and that is Def. Just like how USC Pete Carrol is a Defensive mind, his Off is run by Norm Chow whose can be credited for the Offensive success of USC. Stoops brother cant lay claim like Norm Chow can for being the guy to turn things around. What he can lay claim to is executing Bob's plan to perfection. And it is through this execution and experience and results of Oklahoma as a whole, which gives him the creditials to be a good cadidate for a HC job. But him being gone, wont change the scheme or plan , because it is not his. Only thing to change is now Bob is probably needs to take over the Def alittle more for this game, now that his brother is gone.
Furthermore, I not sure is his brother wont be their for this game. Depending on his contract, which I am not familiar with. He may still be under contract with Oklahoma till the last game or he might not be able to since he accepted the Arizona job. But this is for the National Championship , and I have a feeling , his brother if not on the sidelines running things for the Def. He will surely be behind the scenes somehow. I think he would want to see this team through to the end.
