That was a strange call. So if they kick the extra point they are only down by 7 but no they go for two and convert. I had Memphis -6 and ended up pushing which would kick my parlay to a 4 teamer but still. Just don’t really see that call being made at that point in the game. Miss and your down by 8 in which you’d have to get the on side, get a TD and go for 2 again.
Why not just kick the extra point, be down by 7, get the on side, get the TD and THEN decide whether to go for the win or tie.
Times like these I wonder if those Freemasons that Runmaker speaks so fondly of are fucking with me.

We should start a thread of odd coaching decisions that affect the cover and total. I think it happens more than we would think. And I am talking about the obvious ones that happen late in the game. Coaches continually amaze me of their lack of knowledge and understanding of math and time!

It's the right call if a coach uses analytics, new wave of thinking... you can google up the argument/explanation. I had Mem -5.5 so good either way

In short, you need two TD (14) pts. Go for 2 now: 1. Make it and down by 6 putting pressure on opponent, score TD and win SU. 2. Miss it and down by 8, still need another TD and still have a chance to tie.

I agree with both sides here Pee - you should always go for two no matter the scenario BUT it’s always odd to see a coach do it because they almost never use analytics. Would’ve loved to see them get rewarded for it by getting the onside kick.
